For her, falling in love was difficult. Staying in love was easy. Staying apart; she couldn’t live with that. That, she must handle and fast. Ndiana, the heiress to a pharmaceutical empire in Abuja will stop at nothing to get her husband out of jail. He was framed for a huge theft at the bank where he worked and was convicted and sentenced with five others. Her company can’t understand why for such a high profile case, she would leave all the big shots lawyers at her disposal and insist on Afoma who is just five years at bar but has never lost a case. Afoma who is obsessed with winning hired Tula who just like her seek justice. They must find the real culprit and hence save Ndiana’s husband. Ndiana is convinced only Afoma and Tula were capable and bold enough to help her but she didn’t know that both of them has been marked for death by the very man they seek to expose. Prologue

“Water no get enemy. Come, you are with me. You are safe.”

“Promise you won’t go deep.”

He crossed his heart and she sighed accepting to let him carry her. He bent down for her to climb his neck and she did. She was so slim she was easy to lift. He carried her deep into the water even after crossing his heart, or so she thought. She cursed under her breath. She was screaming at him to go back but he didn’t. She saw the wave of water coming again. She asked him to go back to the shore because if the wave threw him down, she would drown certainly as it would carry her back with it. He waited for it to come close before he took off but it was a minute too late. The water was already too close for safety. Terrified, she shut her eyes and the next thing she felt was her head hitting the wet sand. She opened her eyes and saw she was lying beside someone whose eyes were shut. The person was dark and looked white liked he had been bathing in the water for long. She did a quick scan and her brain remained her that her boyfriend was dark too but he didn’t have all those unkempt beards. Again, her boyfriend was putting on slim running shorts not black trousers. Her boyfriend was also on a white singlet not... she couldn’t place the colour of the shirt.

She heard a voice from forward screaming her name and asking her if she was okay. She looked towards the voice and saw her boyfriend coming towards her. She looked again at the person lying beside her and her brains screamed ‘corpse!’ She let out sequential screams of horror.

This time, everyone at the beach ran towards her.
