Mercedes Academy

“Welcome to Mercedes Academy !!“, the man stood at the podium, a slight smile on his lips.

He was tall and sturdy with broad shoulders, and muscular figure. His jaws were as sharp as his stormy gray eyes. A sharp nose and tight pink lips. Dark brown hair falling onto his forehead, smooth and shiny. His charcoal gray suit hugging his heavy torso and slacks snug, tightened at his waist with a leather belt, gold buckle glinting in the sunlight.

“Dear students”, He cleared his throat. And smiled amicably. His posture relaxed. Stern face softened.

“I, Mr. Genssenne, cordially welcome the new students to our humble institution. I know already a week has gone after the school reopened, we had our president election, along with the others and their coronation. We also have many newly joined students. So, I hope you were happy and comfortable the past week and that you have settled quite well. We have enough facilities and maybe a little more. To the freshers I’d like to say that our academy is one of the illustrious schools in our country, and I would like to say that you chose the best one at that.” He stated proudly.

The whole assembly hall was filled with students, dressed in uniform. Mint navy blue coat hiding the crisp white shirt, tucked inside their navy blue pants or skirts. A tie of a slightly darker shade of blue around their neck. They silently sat in their seat, eyes focused on the headmaster.

“This institution has a ranking system.“, His voice was soft yet stern.

“And the system is not based on wealth, beauty, or popularity.”

“The Mercedes Academy, promotes their students to be better people. Pruning the decaying leaves and watering for the blooming flowers....“, He dropped his hand and raised again accordingly to add effect.

“You have come here to learn and prosper. You are the pillars of the future. So to maintain a strict and studious environment we have this ranking system. It is unfair, I know, but it is also fair. Rules are there. And it is strictly followed. Many students drop out. They leave. They don’t want to be here. It’s going to be hard. To compete among your friends. There are three terms. After each term exams, class will be shuffled according to your marks. You’ll see new faces. Make new friends all over again. If the students do their duty dutifully, then we will do our duty dutifully. We will always be here in hopes to guide you. When you’re troubled. When you wanted help, there are staffs, teachers, even you could approach me. I don’t usually turn away my students, unless I’m very busy and unavailable. I hope everything goes smooth and well. And that you can do your best to come to the creame layer of our academy. I wish you all the best. Thank you.“, He turned away, before pausing,

“Well, let me introduce your president of the student body, Ms. Iris Tricia, and the head boy, Mr. Vaughn Hayes, ... and the head girl, Ms. Herschel Pierce.”

Three students, two girls and a boy, walked from the side and stood beside the headmaster. Bodies tight and head held high. The dark haired girl eyes swept across the sea of students. The sunlight making them a lighter shade. Face with no expression. The boy stood tall and confident too. Mouth curved into a sweet smile, blue eyes sparkling. And then there stood an equally confident girl, platinum blonde, moonstone like eyes glittering as she looked forward towards the mass.

They had neatly presented themselves, tie perfect, shoes perfect, hair perfect, no creases, no stains. A picture of perfection. They had a golden pin with their photo and name on their breast pocket.

“Now, Ms. Tricia will speak to you about how everything goes around here. Thank you”
