"CHAPTER 1 Plot Clarity & Pacing The Hook: Starting with the mango tree heist is a great choice. It immediately establishes Mira’s personality, playful, a bit rebellious, and deeply connected to the children. It grounds the "bodyguard" stakes in a relatable, human way before the "magic and war" plot takes over. The Pacing: The transition from the lighthearted orchard scene to the somber council meeting is handled well. The pacing feels intentional; the tension ratchets up as soon as the word "Serigas" is mentioned. World Building: You manage to explain the "Lunars" and their magic without a "data dump." Learning about their powers through Mira’s internal monologue, describing magic like "picking lint off an old garment", is very evocative and easy to follow. Character Development & Relatability Mira: She is a very relatable protagonist. Her "pulse that knows to jump" for Raffa and her dismissive attitude toward Lycans ("still dogs") makes her feel like a real young adult. She’s confident, perhaps a bit overconfident, which creates a natural "flaw" that readers will want to see tested. Luna Syra: She feels ethereal but heavy with secret burdens. The "cold hand" detail is a fantastic bit of "show, don't tell" that signals to the reader (and Mira) that something is deeply wrong, even if the words are kind. The Supporting Cast: Arcas is charming, and Chandni is a classic "grumpy mentor" type. Raffa is established as a heartthrob, though his "delayed" love language creates a bit of a mystery, is he shy, or is he keeping her at arm's length for a reason? Emotional Engagement The Mother-Daughter Bond: The scene where Luna Syra cups Mira’s face is the emotional anchor. You’ve successfully established that Luna is more than a Queen to Mira; she’s a surrogate mother. This makes Mira’s vow to protect Arcas feel much weightier. The "Anticlimax" Kiss: This was a standout moment for relatability. Most readers have experienced that gap between "what I wanted this moment to be" and "what it actually was." Mira’s internal disappointment makes her very endearing. The Revenge Spark: The mention of Mira's parents being killed in a "freak accident" adds a layer of simmering rage that makes her more than just a bodyguard, it gives her a personal mission. Structural Integrity Tone: The tone shifts effectively from "YA Fantasy Romance" to "High-Stakes Political Thriller." The use of humor (the "filthy furry wolfish species" line) keeps the narrative voice consistent even when the subject matter gets dark. Foreshadowing: The lucky ring and the "engagement of sorts" feel like heavy foreshadowing. As a reader, I immediately worry that the ring is more than a gift, perhaps a tracking device, a protection spell, or a parting souvenir before a tragedy. Dialogue: The dialogue feels natural. The back-and-forth in the council room moves the plot forward while revealing the friction between the "ready for war" military side (Kamir) and the "wait and see" leadership. Strengths & Weak Areas Strengths: Voice: Mira has a distinct, funny, and sharp narrative voice. Sensory Details: Describing Raven as smelling of "garlic and cumin" and Chandni as a "blob of pearly white lacquer" makes the world feel three-dimensional. Weak Areas: The Threat Logic: Mira’s dismissiveness of the Lycans ("We can take them apart limb from limb") makes the villains feel a bit weak at the start. While this fits her character, as a reader, I need to see a reason why the Queen is so cold with fear if the Lycans are truly just "dogs." Great work so far! "The most amazing story with witches and lycans that i ever read... I could feel their pain, their love... I laugh cause there is so much humor in some dialogs, i cried cause there are some heartbreaking parts but has a wonderful end... I just though that Vera would find her fated mate she deserved happiness too. Really loved it and recommend it. This should be in Galatea cause it's better then many werewolves/lycans/witches stories over there, for sure. 🥰🥰❤️❤️👌👌 Humi is a great author with a very great writing and imagination. Thank you. ❤️"
