Chapter 1
♤ZULEIKHA'S POV♤
"Zulei come on, just this once" says Malaika trynna convince me to go out with her to get a tattoo. I sigh "Mal bbe you know i want nothing to do with those places so please" getting a little annoyed because I'm actually on my periods and i get very moody when that time of the month hits. "Ok listen" she says trying to reason with me "If you accompany me to the parlor I'll buy you Chicken Licken wings for an entire week". My eyes immediately light up and i stop on my tracks wanting to make sure that i heard correctly, she grins noticing she had me there. "Make it 2 weeks and a Kauai see through smoothie on the side twice a week for those 2 weeks" she frowns and now it's my turn to grin. "Take it or leave it, that's my offer. Who knows, maybe i might also get one" i wink at her teasing her but that quickly takes a bad turn because as soon as those words leave my mouth she squeals loudly and i winch holding my poor ears. "I am so holding you to that, you also getting one and we'll extend the deal to 3 weeks" she has this stupid smile that almost has her eyes closed. "Fine you win, now lets go before i change my mind and you better hope dad doesn't see it otherwise you'll be doing the explaining" she squeals once again and pulls me straight to a cab that's been waiting for us outside campus cause somebody decided we should leave our cars today for some unknown reason. Rolling my eyes i enter and she gives the driver the location. Malaika Davidson is what you'd call a badass chick, she speaks her mind with no regrets and loves to party but she is also very good with her books. We've been friends since Junior high, she lives with both her parents and her twin Maliek. Her mother is a lawyer and her father a COO of one of the successful companies in the country. I on the other hand live with my dad Zack Iyer and older brother Zadeya Iyer (26) but i call him *my love* because he has been there for me since we lost our mom 10 years ago. My mom and dad were high school sweethearts, mom fell pregnant with Zad at 19 and they got married immediately after they found out. They then had me 4 years later and have been in love ever since, I've never seen them fight or argue and i actually admired their love. When mom passed away i was only 12 years and Zad was 16, our dad has been our hero ever since. He still never got over mom's passing but he stays strong for me and Zad. Dad is a CEO in his family business IYER INC and is one of the most respected and feared businessman, people actually think my brother and i are spoilt brats because of our family status. Zadeya is a successful lawyer and I'm doing my honors in Business Management because I'll be taking over from dad when the time comes.
