Chapter 1
I woke in the morning I was in my Friend Leticia’s bed, I didn’t want to go home because I spent the whole of the night crying well crying because the guy I had a crush on rejected me although it’s not the first time I have been rejected by guy coz I have been rejected by three more boys on social media.
Leticia came and gave me a big hug and said gal go and get ready we are going to school n it’s boarding, WTF I forgot about that. OK, Tisha see you tomorrow I have to home, but school is today ruth. I didn’t listen to her because I will be late, I have to do the godamm shopping and packing and going to school tomorrow that was stressful.
Reaching home I was surprised when I saw mom had already bought all the stuff only packing was remaining she came and hugged me despite all the drama that is at home and its because of dad he cheats on mom he comes back home on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday other days he’s off with some whores. Any way little did I care about his shitty life as long as he played his role in providing for me.
By noon I was done with packing mom insisted that I go today but I didn’t want to see Noah the guy who I proposed to and rejected me, the worst part of all is he’s my classmate I know I completely messed up but I will ignore him the whole term it is even my last year in high school so I will manage. I spent the rest of the day watching movies when night came I decided to sleep.
In the morning I put all my stuff in Mom’s car then we set off for school. During the drive to school, I was thinking about what I will do when I meet Noah, what will I do, what will I say, what does he think of me, all those thoughts were running through my head till mom called out to me, we had reached school. Mom are you sure this is my school, she looked at me with a confused expression, of course, it is sweetie “she said.” Of course, it is dummy I muttered to myself. I took my stuff to the dorms before telling mom goodbye and to take care of herself and others after mom left I pulled out my cell phone to call Tisha, the phone rang inside the dorm so knew so I knew they were in class but why would she leave her phone here, anyway am getting late so I decided to go to class.
Reaching my class I opened the door but I was so concentrated on my phone to mind all the eyes staring at me. Finally putting away my phone, I looked at everyone, hey dummies why are you all staring at me like as if am the math teacher, everyone started laughing until heard a voice saying, What so funny I would like to laugh too. Omg, it was the godamm math teacher I hope he didn’t hear what I said. Oh hi Mr. Williams that’s a good shirt you wearing, thanx Mrs smith, and it’s really good seeing you today and please take your seat, ok sir.
All our classes were done and Noah didn’t pay any attention to my existence like as if we didn’t know each other, Noah was a good friend of mine we used to joke together lough together and go to parties with our friends together but that didn’t mean I could start liking him it’s not like he would feel the same way so I don’t blame him for anything coz it’s all my fault and I wish things could go back to the way they were.
I was still lost in my thoughts when Letisha called out to me, Hey girl nice to see you today, Tisha you saw me yesterday I told her. Anyway let’s go to the cafeteria the guys are there, Tisha pulled me through the hallway until I stopped moving. Hey, why have u stopped, Tisha u know me and Noah are not on good terms so I will have my supper in the dorms, ok Ruth your choice I have to meet my boyfriend. Ok, Tisha go and meet that asshole boyfriend of yours, Hey Ruth that’s not nice of you, ok ok sorry Tisha anyway go head your boyfriend will go nuts if he doesn’t see you now. Ok bye, Ruth. Then I saw Tisha running towards the cafeteria and I made my way to the dorms.
The dorms were quite quiet since everyone was busy enjoying themselves and here I was trying to ignore Noah.
I arranged my stuff and laid my bed then I went on my phone I searched through my social media and decided to go on Facebook I prefer it to all others. Reaching there I found a new friend request it had; Mikey B.
I decided to accept the request then a message came up;
Mikey B: hey how r u doing.
Ruthy: am good and you.
Mikey b: am great, am Mike Brantley and you.
Ruthy: Whitney Ruth Smith are my names.
Mikey B: nice to meet you, Whitney.
Ruthy: same to me Mike.
Mikey B: can you toss your pic.
Ruthy: sure
pic sent.
Mikey B; You look nice by the way.
Ruthy: thank you can I see you too.
Mikey B: sure
pic sent.
After Mike sent his pic I went offline to look at the pic very well he had a dimpled chiseled face a broad chest and pink lips, my mouth was left open as I saw the rest of his pics and his nice body until Letisha came in and I threw my phone down. Tisha picked it up and saw the pictures I was looking at, hey Whitney I know this guy. Really Tisha? yes, Whitney, he’s peters cousin, oh you mean Peter that dumbass classmate of ours, yep Whitney that dumbass. Ok, Tisha how was dinner, it was good those guys were shouting and singing n dancing their asses off as me and my bf smooched. Ok, Tisha am tired goodnight.
It has been two weeks since we came back to school and since I met Mike on FB, Mike is a simple and humble boy I think I am starting to have a little crush on him although I fear having a crush on any other boy because of my experience on Noah and some other boys. Am even late for classes so I headed over to them. The class was fun as always when the boys were speaking nonsense and the girls pissing teachers and at the end of the day, it all went well for me. I went to the dorms during supper times because I was going to talk to Mke, well my new crush but the best part is I got over Noah and that was one thing I wanted.
Mikey b; Hey WHITNEY I would like to tell you something.
Ruthy; Hi Mike, how are you? Go ahead with what you want to say.
Mikey b; I AM good and you. I like you and would like you to be my girlfriend if it’s ok with you.
Ruthy; YOU LIKE ME? I like you too and I would love to be your girlfriend.
Mikey b; OH wow am too glad to hear that and am glad that you will be part of my life now. And I promise that I will make our relationship work.
Ruthy; I too promise to make this relationship work and thank you for giving me a chance to be part of your life.
Mikey b; Alright sweetheart I know you are tired so goodnight see ya tomorrow and if possible can we talk in the morning.
Ruthy; In the morning I will surely and goodnight.
Mikey b; Ok then see you in the morning goodnight, I love you.
Ruthy; I love you too goodnight.
And from there I went offline, a smile appeared on my lips as tears were also forming in my eyes. It was all happiness, happiness that finally someone felt the same way that I did to them and he proposed to me instead of me proposing to him. I just felt too happy even though it will be a long-distance relationship and many people say that they don’t work out. The smile faded and then the tears took over and questions formed in my head. Will me and him workout, will we not meet challenges, of course, in every relationship, there are fights, quarrels, and worse breakups and heartbreaks but am I ready for all of it.
