Welcome

“Good afternoon everyone and welcome to your favorite show on timeless FM, 76.5. This is still your aproko girl, Kehinde Ilupeju. Welcome to another episode on “Koko”. We have plenty gist for your listening pleasure this cool Friday Afternoon so sit back, relax, and enjoy this ride with us. As always you can call in to share your views on any topic discussed on the show. The number to call is still 01467654230. Once more, the number to call is 01467654230. Our hearty congratulations go out to all graduates today. We are super excited about your win, and we are looking forward to what you have in store for us going forward. As we have been stating for a few weeks, this set is the most notorious group of students and yet they also take the title of the most brilliant set to ever walk the halls of our great universities. They have always exceeded expectations and we know that the sky is just the beginning. We also want to congratulate our law school and medical school graduates. For the first time in so many years, diverse institutions are graduating on the same day. This is truly an exceptionally good afternoon. Next, we have news on your favorite couple, you know who we are talking about, the one and only Fatima Jigawa and Chidindu Eze. The internet has been speculating about whether the couple did a secret wedding without the consent of their parents. This speculation started because someone leaked a video of Fatima in a ceremonial wedding outfit at a venue. We reached out to the couple to have a conversation to which they obliged us and now we are happy to tell all their amazing fans out there that you are right and you are also wrong. I’m sure I just gave some of you heart attacks and I confused some as well. Let me explain, Fatima was in a wedding outfit yes, she was at a venue where weddings take place yes, but they are not yet married. It was for a blockbuster movie which will be out by the end of the year so keep your eyes and ears open for more information on the movie. The sizzling couple will be working together on this production as lovers. Aren’t we all excited to see their electric sparks again? I for one, am. I am looking forward to seeing how they look together. They are so private and secretive about everything. This should be fun. Tell me what you think about these two stories shared with you. We will be back shortly after this break. Here is a beautiful song by Brymo titled “Naked”. Sit back, put your feet up and let us carry you through this exceptional afternoon to the evening. We got you! Don’t touch that dial.”

It is also provided on our social media pages. For those of us not familiar with our social media handles. On social media, please check for @AprokoGirl76.5FM. The phone lines are open and you can drop comments on any of our social media pages. Let me read a few messages. @glamorour wrote that she still thinks Fatima and Chidindu got married but they are using this movie as a cover up. Thank you @glamorour, wouldn’t that be sizzling. @angrybird wrote “these celebrities will do anything to promote their movies/music. I expected better from Fatima and Chidindu. They understand how much their fans are emotionally invested in their relationship and they extorted that. I guess at the end of the day, they are all generally the same”. @angrybird, I understand your pain, a lot of people are actively waiting for their wedding. @wildernd is saying he is one of the graduating students today. @wildernd, big congratulations to you, have an awesome day graduate. Thank you all very much for your messages. The love is amazing. Let’s move on to the next topic. We are aware that the media has been buzzing with the news of the release of the “Morderer”. For those of us that have forgotten what happened, let me refresh your memory. A lady by the name Christabel was convicted for manslaughter because she killed her adoptive mother. Christabel was adopted by the well-respected Whyte family when she was a rebellious teenager, The Whyte’s were warned about the challenges associated with adopting a teenager, but they did not listen. Dr. Whyte, God rest his soul, was determined to show that there was nothing wrong or detrimentally challenging in adopting a teenager. I remember he was interviewed on a show aired by this station a lot of years ago, where he was advocating for this explaining the reason for this passion being that a lot of teenagers, do not get adopted and that was a shame. He stated that they deserved good and loving homes as much as any other age group. Less than 6 years after adopting the very troubled teenager, who was rumored by the staff at the Whyte residence, to be more trouble than she was worth, Dr. Whyte died in a suspicious car accident. According to the report, he was driving Christabel to an exam at her university when it happened. She was in the backseat, and she sustained minor injuries. She could not help the investigation or aid in identifying any suspects. It was exceptionally challenging as she did not recollect everything that happened. There was no evidence implicating her, so she was never a suspect. She continued with her university education studying Medicine just like Dr. Whyte. Then less than 2 years down the line, she killed Mrs. Whyte in the Whyte residence at Groove estate. She admitted to killing her and claimed it was an accident. The murder of her mother earned her the name ‘Morderer’ The very controversial trial took a long time, but she was eventually sentenced to 8 years’ imprisonment. This caused a lot of protests as the people felt she was given a slap on the wrist for killing a beloved family. Some even speculated that she had a hand in Dr. Whyte’s death. My gist lovers, the latest gist is that her time in prison is up, and she is being released today. She was estopped from inheriting anything from the estate and the fortune of Dr and Mrs. Whyte so this fortune passed on to Dr. Whyte’s Sister as our laws strongly state that you cannot benefit from your crimes. However, Dr. Whyte’s sister could not handle the heartache of losing her brother and his wife, so she committed suicide. The estate thereafter passed to Dr. Whyte’s only surviving relative, his cousin. Christabel is being released today and everyone is talking about it. Wow, I have so many messages already. I will not be able to go through them all, Apologies if I do not read yours out loud on air but they are all well received @humantouvh said “the law is useless, why would she ever be released. She should have died in prison”. @humantouvh. Thank you for your comment. We understand your frustration with the system. @graveleater said “she messed adoption for teenagers up big time, we will never forgive her for this”. @graveleater I feel you. I know how orphanages will be having more challenges with getting teenagers in their care adopted now because of this scandal @jujudomiant said “she is a witch; an evil murderous witch and karma is coming for her”. @jujudomiant thank you for your comment. We understand how upsetting this must be. We have a call. Hello, good afternoon, thank you for calling. Please tell us your name and where you are calling from before you tell us your views.”

“Hello Aproko girl, my name is Dele and I am calling from Oke-ajiro. I believe that she was given too light a sentence. I remember this story very well; I was even in court for some of her court hearings. This lady deserves the death penalty. I remember being so angry every time in that court room and every time I looked at her. Aproko girl, do you know she did not have the look of someone who regretted her actions, her head was held high, she had an emotionless expression. I cannot believe she was released. I cannot believe she is walking among us normal and sane people. I am so disappointed in our judicial system. So extremely disappointed.”

“Dele, thank you for calling. We understand how you must have felt then and how all those feelings have come rushing back now. Thank you very much for calling. Let me take a few more comments before another call comes in @desirepleasure said “I know some people will come at me for this comment, but everything is not always as it seems. I am a law student, and we were always taught to hear both sides, there is no report where this lady said her side of the story. We cannot judge since we do not have the full picture”. @desirepleasure thank you for this discerning point of view. I remember that we tried so many times to get interviews with Christabel, but she did not want to talk to anyone besides her lawyer. In fact, she refused interviews from every media house that approached her for her side of the story so it is safe to say, either she does not have a side that is different from what we already know, or she is not interested in sharing her side of the story @hamjamgram said “God will surely deal with her. The host of heaven will punish her and her future generation. The Whyte’s asked for a child and they got a monster”. @hamjamgram thank you for your comment. @jupiter said “I’m surprised she lasted 8 years in prison without being killed but then again what do you expect from a cold hearted murderer, she could have even killed more people in prison for all we know. It is scary to imagine that kind of animal being unleashed upon us all.” @jupiter, thank you for your comment. I understand the range of emotions we must all be feeling. I am sure that it is like a reopened wound that stings so badly. There are some comments here that I cannot read on air, we are so sorry we will not be able to take everyone’s comments. We have over 3700 comments already and more are still coming in. We appreciate you. Thank you for your comments and thank you for participating in our show. We will take one more call before we go on another break. Hello good afternoon, thank you very much for calling. Please tell us your name and where you are calling from before you tell us your views.”

“My name is Amina, I am calling from Groove estate. I wanted to say I knew Christabel; she was a very broken person when the Whyte’s adopted her. A lot of us did not like her initially but we grew to like and understand her. I also understand that what she did is unspeakable and undeniably evil, but I believe she had paid for her crimes in prison. I believe the system is made to reform behaviors and not to destroy the person. I understand everyone’s pain and I am not oblivious to the fact that this is not just about what she did but what has cascaded from same. The ripple effects. Hate me if you want. She did something despicable yes, but she is not despicable. I got to meet the lady behind the wall that Christabel put up and I can tell you that she is a lot of things, but deep down, her heart is pure and good. Please note, I am not condoning her actions. I am not saying she should be given an award or that anyone should be kind to her, no. I am not callous, she deserved everything she got but I am saying judge her actions but not the person. Thank you and have a good day.”

“Thank you, Amina, for that very insightful opinion. You have given us all a lot to think about. People online have been reacting to Amina’s call. Please I would like to beg us all to be kind with our words. Some of the things written on our social media platforms are on another level of savagery. Please let us be kind to one another. I am the sheriff of this town called Koko and I will not take some level of insults from anyone; @hunterfinger, @jupiter, @glamorour, @grandfilale, @greyhounddd1, @goosedoom, @hileumhydropets, and @hungrygloverfll, please stop. Thank you very much. We are going to take a short break now. I suggest we all calm down, relax, take deep breaths, and enjoy the music. When we come back, we will be talking about the latest list of the 5 most eligible bachelors and Bachelorettes in town. You do not want to miss it. Let me leave you with this beautiful song from Johnny Drille titled ‘Dear Future Wife’. Sit back, raise your legs, relax, and enjoy the ride. Stay tuned and do not touch that dial. It is still your girl Kehinde Ilupeju aka Aproko girl, and this is still your favourite program “Koko” on 76.5FM. We will be back”
