A New Normal
"Alright, to be honest, this book is too mushy for me. I’ve sat through a couple of romance novels and I’d say they’re a fun read, but this one was too lovey-dovey. I mean it was evident from the start that Roger and Keely were head over heels in love with each other, but you kept reiterating this fact till it got a little redundant. Besides this, it’s a quaint novel, filled with happy moments. The language is simple, the message is clear, and I really like the way you’ve written it. The simplicity of the novel conveys volumes to the reader, making the story easy to follow. I like the idea of a married couple trying to balance out their professional and personal lives, and the struggles they are faced with while doing so. Of course, I haven’t read the previous books in this series so perhaps I’m making misinformed judgements. But considering that you’re writing non-fiction, you could have conveyed the emotions in the story a lot better to help the readers really connect with the characters. For me, that was the only thing missing."
