Prologue
I couldn’t hear anything, only a faint ringing sound. I was laying on the ground unable to move. My hands and feet were tied together. I blinked a few times, and after a moment my head started to throb uncontrollably.
“God dammit. What the fuck is happening . . .”
I looked around. I was in a small room. It was so dark I could hardly tell at first. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I noticed a door across the room. I went to loosen the rope, but it wouldn’t budge. The door in front of me opened, and I laid frozen in fear. My heart was racing. Was I going to die? A man, who looked a few years older than me, came into the room. He was holding a box full of heavy sounding tools. He placed them on a table near the corner of the room.
“Who the fuck are you!” I shouted angrily, but you could easily recognize the fear in my voice. The man proceeded to do what he was doing. It was like I was invisible.
“Hey!” I shouted again.
I moved around trying to get free from the rope.
“Why won’t you answer me you!⎯″ before I could finish I saw a large sharp blade in the man’s hand. My whole body went cold. He turned around, finally noticing me.
“You’re awake.”
I opened my mouth to say something, but I couldn’t speak. I was unable to do anything. He slowly walked in my direction and kneeled over me, placing the blade on my neck.
“Stop, stop! What the hell do you want!”
His cold black eyes stared straight through mine. He pushed the knife against my throat and I gasped slightly as I felt the point edge my skin.
“I’m serious! I don’t know who you are or what I did to you!”
My voice cracked and the panic was fully noticeable now. I was terrified. “Tell me what you did to her, Daniel.”
I started to hyperventilate, not knowing what to say. I didn’t know how he knew my name, nor who he was referring to by “her”. I suddenly passed out.
