We stood around the director, the pressure of this moment, nearly unbearable. Celeste Rainy and Nolan Miller stood by my sides, Nolan holding my sweaty hand in his.
Celeste stood straight and proud next to me. Her back was straight and her face was unreadable. Her hair in the most perfect bun I had ever seen. She's always very bold and confident with anything she does but she's a perfectionist at heart.
Celeste and I are best friends and we have been since fifth grade. Nolan and I may be dating but he could never take Celeste's place.
Molly, our director, walked into the room with a piece of paper. "The person who will play the Beast will be Nolan Miller. Belle will be Lynn Rose, Gaston will be Christopher Dwight, Mrs. Potts will be Celeste Rainy, Lumiere will be Garrett Quinn, Cogsworth will be Jeffrey Swimmer, Belle's father will be Jackson Jones, Chip will be Samuel Walters, The Three Sisters will be played by Jane and Carrie Evans and Wendy Young, The Wardrobe will be Andy Andrews, the Feather Duster will be played by Maddie Fairly, and extras are Clara Wills, Anna Fairly, Maddie Smalls, Daren Dark, Karl Anthony, and Andrew Rand."
I smiled when my name was called for Belle. Nolan and Celeste beamed with pride at the parts given to them as well. Belle, the Beast, and Mrs. Potts have a solo dance.
"You are all dismissed and I will see those who were casted tomorrow." Molly said, walking away. I let out a breath and Nolan hugged me from behind, twirling me around in the air.
"Yes babe! We did it!" Nolan said, I smiled as he let me down. "Well duh, we're the best here." I said sarcastically.
Celeste scoffed next to me. "Thank you so much, love ya too." She sarcastically shot back. We all hugged and congratulated each other.
I walked over to Andy and hugged her. She went for the role of Belle and I felt bad for taking her roll.
"It's fine. I'll live with being a wardrobe." She laughed.

I pulled my hair into a tight bun and fixed my white tights, adjusting them to the way I wanted. I put on my jazz shoes, pulled down my short shorts and shirt, and stepped onto the small stage we were rehearsing on.
My Nolan walked next to me and we got into position, my hand resting on his shoulder, his hand on my waist and our other hand joined together.
"And one, two, ready, go." Molly told us and we started our waltz. "Faster!" Molly yelled at us.
My steps moved in sync with Nolan's as we sped up, making it look easy. "Stop!" Molly shouted. We stopped ourselves and released each other from our grips.
"Rose, Nolan, start dancing. Everyone else watch them." Molly ordered in a stern tone of voice. We nodded and danced away, faster than we started last time. We smiled at each other like we would in the play.
We are practicing for the waltz at the end of the play.
"Stop." She told us. "I need you to look in love. Not pretending to be." She said, My small smile dropped. "Umm, we kind of are. I mean she is my girlfriend." Nolan said.
"Yes but you look like you just met. Like you don't know each other." She said, throwing her arms in the air wildly.
"So get a different person." Celeste said to Molly. Molly thought for a bit.
"Next time, if you two don't look in love, I will switch the beast. I already know who I will switch you with." She said, walking away.
"Rose, come do your scene!" She called for me. I stepped out of Nolan's grasp and went to the hallway with Molly, Celeste, and Andy.
"Now, we will do the scene when you are sad and Mrs. Potts and the wardrobe come to make you feel better. Rose, act sad."
I sat on the small bed that we used for our prop before the performance and put my head in my hands.
I fake cried, tears forming in my eyes and some dropping down my face. A small knock came from where the door would be.
"Come in." I spoke softly, wiping away some tears. "Hello, dear, I thought you would like a nice spot of tea." Celeste said in her Mrs. Potts voice.
"Sure." I said after I thought for a moment. A little boy came out of a corner and ran up to us. "Mama, that's the girl I told you about." He spoke.
"Oh Chip, enough of that, get this girl some tea." Celeste said. He nodded and gave me tea.
In this play we have to improvise for people because they are supposed to be silverware and tea pots. They are just maids and butlers that are treated poorly.
"Good, now, Rose I want you to do your dance for when you go through the town." She told me and I got in place, ready to do what I love most, dancing.
I did a chain turn and a two step. My moves were very delicate and slow, moving with the beat of the lyrical music.
The beat picked up and I did a jump split, landing on both feet. I did a spiral followed by an illusion.
An illusion is a very advanced move that I've only ever done three times. I move my weight to my right foot and hing my hips, putting my foot in the air, toes pointed to the ceiling.
I pivot and my knee gives out, I hear a popping noice followed by multiple shots of pain up my leg.
I fell on my side and grabbed my leg. Tears form in my eyes. My knee was disgusting looking.
Molly and Celeste were immediately next to me. Molly took my leg lightly in her hands.
"Nolan call an ambulance!" Celeste yelled at him. The pain I am feeling right now is unbearable. Tears running down my face.
