So sweet with ambition

But I saw a light gleam
And I believed.
Woke to your cherry lips,
So plump with pent desire
With a call of another,
But they smiled at me
And I believed.
Woke to poisoned flowers,
So full of life and love
With little warning to small lungs.
Deep breath in
And I believed in nothing more
Than you and me.
