Chapter 1: Into Darkness

Jessica woke up from a long night.

“Jessica! Hurry up, now. I think school starts within the hour!” yelled her mom, Kathy.

She groaned and got out of her comfy, woolen bed with a red blanket, and walked down her dark brown hardwood stairs, and into the kitchen.

“Can’t it wait one more day?” Jessica whined.

“The sooner, the better” replied her dad, Derek.

She leaned on the white and peach granite island and dark brown cupboards, and grabbed an apple. It was good, and she wanted another. But her mom stopped her from doing so.

“Come on,” Kathy said, “start getting ready for school.”

Jessica stopped leaning on the counter and went back to her room to get ready. She took a hot shower, and put on her clothes.

After doing so, she went back downstairs and noticed her family was gone. Like, disappeared, not there.

Jessica crept around her house, inspecting every room. Even outside, in the frigid cold. Everywhere she look, there was no trace of them.

She sat on her front porch, in the cold, crying.

All it took for her to lose everything was a couple minutes.

Then Jessica heard a voice.

“Come, now, Jessica Starlight, I will show you the way.” said the wisp of light.

She was too dazed by the fact that an orb of light was telling her to follow.

“Come, now, Jessica Starlight, I will show you the way.” said the wisp of light again.

This time, she followed the wisp and into the forest she went, finding things like a cow with horns on it’s head.

“What is that,” asked Jessica, pointing at the cow.

“A Minotaur. We must hurry, or you will die trying to fight off the mythicals.” replied the wisp.

Jessica nodded and continued walking with the wisp, which it’s name turned out to be Miranda the Light Wisp.

The sun slowly crept below the horizon and Jessica and the light wisp stopped at the edge of the forest.

“We still have three more days of traveling,” said Miranda, “I hope to get there before Tyranny Day.”

“What’s Tyranny Day” asked Jessica, oblivious to what the wisp was talking about.

“Tyranny Day is when ALL mythicals; good and bad, are released. The bad mythicals cause death and destruction of innocents of the mythical and human worlds.”

Jessica nodded and leaned against an oak tree, drifting away into sleep.
