Dear Aileen,
I'm sorry that we have to be apart for a long time now. That doesn't means I don't love you anymore but I won't be mad if you don't forgive me. As I'm writing I can clearly see you my 7 year old smiling and laughing as you play tug of war with the little waves. But I'm going away for your own good darling. Family is important, you are important to me but we have to keep our secrets save. It's been ten years since I left of what is left of my own family but still they haven't stopped this. They are now chasing after me. This time I won't run, so that you my daughter don't have to hide in the future.The war between humans and mermaids is never ending but I, for once will end it all so that you can live peacefully. Happy Birthday my dear. The only gift I can give you is your safety but for that I'll have to sacrifice myself. Again, I'm sorry my dearest. I can't guarantee if I'll see in the future but I'll try. For now trust your dad like you have trusted me.
