Graduation day

"Congratulations baby" Matilda told her daughter as she hugged her. She just couldn't believe that her little child born eighteen years ago was no longer a high school girl. Her daughter was done with high school. Wow! It feels like yesterday when she birthed her child. A lot has happened in this eighteen years.

"Congratulations honey"she repeated as she sniffed.

Chelsea smiled at her mother. She couldn't blame her mother for crying. She herself couldn't believe that she was done with high school.

"Thanks mommy"

"Am proud of you child;am really proud of you"

Chelsea smiled.

"We'll have to............"

Her mother didn't get to finish her statement cause her best friend dragged her away.

"Sorry Matilda" Maya said as she continued dragging Chelsea away.

"Hey! What's up with you? Let me go" Chelsea led out,but her friend held her hand in a tight grip.

They walked past the bunch of people that were there for the graduation ceremony. Once they were outside, the school garden precisely, her friend let go of her hand.

Chelsea frowned "why the fuck did you bring me here?"

Maya grinned "you'll know soon". Maya gasped "oops! I think I forgot something. I'll be right back. Don't you dare move an inch".

Chelsea sighed as she saw her friend leaving the garden. 'Why the hell did Maya bring me here?' She asked herself as she went and sat on the bench that was usually on the garden.

Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, and no sign sign of Maya. She scoffed. And just when she was about leaving the garden, she heard a deep husky voice behind her. Even without looking back, she already knows who the voice belonged to.

Instantly, she felt a particular kind of anger surging through her veins. 'What is he doing here?' She asked herself as she turned to face him.

"Happy graduation" He smiled at her.

She rolled her eyes at him. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Realization dawned on her. It was planned. This psycho planned with her friend to bring her out here.... She exhaled. 'Maya is so gonna be dead for agreeing to this'

Jackson smiled at her "I just wanted to see you......."

She cut him off "did you tell Maya to bring me out here?" She sounded really pissed off.

Jackson nodded his head "yeah. I know you wouldn't come out if I ask you to. Sorry I did that...."

"Whatever. If you don't mind, I have something more important to do. Excuse me"

She tried walking away, but he said something, making her halt in her movement.

"I'll be leaving to join the force. I might be away for almost two or three years". He told her.

She scoffed "you might as well not come at all,or even perish there. For all I care,go to hell". She hissed at him.

"Hey baby?" She heard behind her. She almost rolled her eyes as she heard her fake boyfriend's voice behind her.

Yeah, he was her fake boyfriend. She was only using him to keep Jackson away from her life, but she feels that Mason is taking advantage of it. He's always acting as if he was really her boyfriend, even though she has made it clear to him that he's not her real boyfriend.

'She's only doing it for her sake'. She told herself and turned to him.

"Hello dear?" She feigned a tight smile at him.

She got into his open arms and embraced him.

"Happy graduation baby" Mason told her.

"Thanks a bunch dear" she replied.

All the while,Jackson stood watching the two of them act like lovers. He felt real bad. He felt jealousy surge through him as the two of them kissed.

He left the garden with a gloomy face, and headed back to where his mother and elder siblings were.

From the look of things, Becky could tell that it didn't go well with her son. He had told her that he wants to say his final goodbyes to Chelsea.

Her heart lept for her son. Its a different thing to fall in love with someone and it's a more different thing if the person you fell in love doesn't love you,or doesn't even want you at all. She understands how he's feeling right now.

She herself was once in his shoes.
