SNOWY LOVE
Everything hurts. My chest tightened and my heart begged me to go the cabin. Jarrod was there with Diane. The woman he repeadly went back to, even though they were not official. Diane was a beautiful but a cunning woman who would do anything to get her way, however, Jarrod was a playboy who fucked everything that moves. I ploughed through the pathless snowy field for twenty minutes and no one had came to get me.
The cold breeze nipped at my face so harshly. The snow fall was gentle, still, the enviromental factor was not so nice. My hair was pushed only trailling behind me as I walked, my legs were almost frozen and damped from hiking and my face were pale with my cheeks flushed baby pink. Footsteps crunched behind me as my heart fluttered with happiness. I scowled at the familiar and delicious scent from behind. I kept hiking through.
“Lorena!” Jarrod called. I stopped in my tracks. My leg thanked me for rest. Jarrod approached closer but carefully and slowly. My eyes welled up knowing my emotions got the best of me. “Lori,”
“I thought you’re with Diane,” I told bitterly. Jarrod gave a heavy sighed as I referred to the stunt at the cabin. He approached closer than before. We were inches away apart, Jarrod was close enough to touch but he didn't.
“Diane won’t be bothering us anymore,” Jarrod went. I used my heels to swiftly turn to him. My eyes betrayed me as a tear slid down my cheeks. Jarrod’s expression told me that his heart was breaking. He hated that he hurt me to which now he must pay. I took a deep breath to gather myself and stood my ground.
“But, Diane was—“
“Diane was never my lover, she never will,” Jarrod cut off. “I have silenced for good and, she had committed treason stated within the vampiric law and to me; as sovereign,”
I furrowed my brows, My head tilted to one side in confusion with tears in my eyes. Jarrod raised his hand and wiped them away. His expression were filled with sorrow in which his eyes always welled up. I grabbed his hand and bought them to my face to feel him. His touch was intoxicating, and yet gentle as if he would never hurt a fly. Jarrod grabbed my waist and pulled my body to him. My body slammed against him with his arms wrapped tighly in an embrace. He buried his face in my hair with his eyes shut.
“Lori, have you ever wondered why your chest tightens and your heart wants you to stay to me no matter what?” Jarrod asked.
“No,” I replied in a muffled voice.
“We’re soulmates,” Jarrod went. “Soulmates are destined to be together for the end of time and when one dies, they die with them… or when one cheat, the other feel the severe pain of betrayal,”
“My heart hurt a bit when you kissed that bitch,” I spat.
Jarrod chuckled. I planted a soft kiss on the top of my head. My feelings were validated and acknowledged.
“That bitch is no more and you came at the wrong time,” Jarrod went. “She forced herself onto me,”
“Whatever,” I grumbled. Jarrod pulled away for a moment. We stared in each other eyes filled with just and desire to ravish each other.
“Lori….it was so goddamn hard not to propose to you when we first met, imagine how awkward that must’ve been if I did,” Jarrod went. I rolled my eyes at him playfully.
“I mean… I wouldn’t say no,” I said. Jarrod grabbed my face as he smashed his lips against mine. Of course I would be lying if the kiss was sweet, wholesome and gentle. The sensation was opposite; it was heated and passionate, it was firm and intense but the feeling sends shivers down my spine. The sparks between us new and electrifying to which something that was used to in matter of minutes. My mind was in a daze and my heart was happy as I was with someone I love. That special someone was the King of the Vampires, Jarrod.
