Chapter 1
I raced through the forest, Leaf running to try and catch me. “I'm gonna get you!” he yelled from somewhere behind me. What animal will blend in here? I thought concentrating on what animal I should shift into. Or should I go with something fast? I smiled in satisfaction when I finally decided. I leaped into the air thinking of a cheetah. My body shuddered slightly as I made the transformation. When I reached the ground, I took off.
“YOU CAN TRY!!” I laughed as the air whipped around my furry face. The cheetah, I thought, runs 70mph and uses its tail for balance as it runs. I pumped my legs as hard as I could. Skidding to a halt behind a tree, I flicked my ears. Straining,I listened for the sound of Leaf running or walking, but I got nothing.
“AHA! GOT YOU, TIMBERS!” Leaf yelled in triumph, pouncing on me. His cheetah form was
bigger (and more muscular) than mine so he easily kept me pinned down as I struggled.
“Aw come on! I almost beat you this time, Leaf!” I whined.
“Don't be a sore loser, Timbers. I always win!” he said, getting off me.
“Loser” I mumbled, starting to walk towards home.
~About 5 minutes later~
I went through the open door and went up the stairs to my room. Once I got there, I shifted to my human form and put on some clothes only to see Willow in the doorway.
“Hey bestie.” she smiled “How's it going?”
