Katherine stood in the window of the dress shop, seeming to stare at a heavily beaded two piece set. It was gold, too close to the color of her skin, and had a petal skirt with a big slit up the front. If you’d asked her what it looked like, she wouldn’t have known. She was staring off into space and thinking about nothing.
It was May. Not warm enough for a t-shirt yet, not cold enough for a jacket. She wore jeans, a thin cropped sweater, and a long scarf. Her red hair fell in waves down her back.
