Summary

"Do you want a snack? Supper? Do you want to come in for supper?" He suddenly asks stepping away to move to the building that sits on the curve of the side of the road. "What? No, I have supper actually. I'm going to eat it soon." I say lifting up my bag and noticing the creep's face change a little. "Are you sure?" He asks as he steps closer again and this time I take a gigantic step back. "Yeah, no thank you. I'm okay." I say and stay stone still, my heart completely ready to gallop right out of my chest. Stalked On Halloween

~

This is based on a real-life experience my friend and I went through.

~

We walk, my best friend and I, it was Halloween and about three or four o'clock in th afternoon and we were on our way to Dunkin Donuts.

We walk through the apartment building complex area where she lived and made it to the long stretch of road that led to to the main roads in town and Dunkin.

The setting sun cast an eerily pink and red hue across the sky, I felt something was off, I kept getting lost in my very vague thoughts as my friend chatters about the day.

A sense of foreboding if you will would not stop nagging at me, something kept clawing at my insides, made me so anxious as we walked I look around, not sure what I was searching for but feeling like I had to.

We were walking down a long road that led to Dunkin Donuts and we order a pumpkin spice latte, sharing it as we walk our way back to her house.

When we got to the beginning of the many many many apartment building complex buildings, we noticed a dark car with really tinted windows parked a mere fifty or so feet away.

The widows were too dark for us to see inside, so we didn't know what the person looked like, and we didn't know if they were watching us.

"Um, Sarah?" I ask peering at the car suspiciously.

"Yeah, I know. I see it too." Said my friend to who I concealed the real name and provided with another.

"Let's go, I don't feel too good about this." I said, still intensely staring at the car, squinting my eyes as if to see better.

We walk, scurrying down the road now very aware of our surroundings, as we walk at a leisurely pace, we turn a couple of corners and look back every so often.

We giggled about it awkwardly, kind of humored by it but also horrified of the sickness we both felt looking at the car, our gut instincts telling us that something was wrong, really off with this car and posibly the person in the drivers seat.

We look back as we walk every so often and giggle it off the longer we walked and the car wasn't showing up again.

At first, it didn't seem as though the car was going to pop up anytime soon, but it did when we least expected it, we had just swapped the drink and both taken a sip when I just so happen to look back over my shoulder as we walked.

And there nonchalantly the car was there, not running, not making a sound. The windows darkly tinted. But still exactly fifty or so feet away from us the exact distance it was when we first saw it.

A dark green almost black car, a not really old car but one of those early 2000s green cars, a Saab car almost stood staring at us.

A pang of instant shock ran through me and I started to lose my humor about it. As soon as I glanced over my shoulder and happen to settle my eyes over it, I got flinched with an emotion I could only describe as; Complete and utter shock and a dose of terrifying reality.

"Okay, is that car following us?" I ask staring at the car now with more alertness.

I stared straight into the windshiled trying to bore holes into the person I couldn't make out, I was hoping to make that person feel so ucomfrtoable that they leave on their own accord.

But that is not what happened.

We continue walking looking over our shoulders as we still walk the roads to get to her house, at this point we were only little less than halfway and knew it would take another ten or so minutes before we could make it to safety.

We were terrified and comtemplating on what to do.

I wanted to run but I didn't just want to leave her there, we were so close together we were each others ride or die.

So, as we cross the street and noticed the car following us, we turn a corner and we both screech out "run" to one another, grip each others hands and propelled each other forward.

We had to book it across yards, a basketball court and more streets and never looked back until we reached my best friends backdoor and instantly flew inside slamming it closed.

We oddly didn't talk about it for a long time, we kind of just said it was a relief to be back and that we both agreed we weren't going to answer the door for any children and just enjoy the horror movie marathon we had waited for all day.

We didn't tell anyone either, I don't know why.

I think my reasoning was just because it was way too creepy for me to think about and so I just pushed it to the back of my mind until a few months later when the memory came up between our conversations.

What happened that day didn't tear us apart thankfully, instead it made our friendship that much more stronger. We were thankful for each other, being so in tune or just the same flight response to grab each other and pull he other along.

We didn't just up and leave one another and I think that was when we knew, we had a solid friendship.

That night we watched The Babbadook and As Above So Below and that day I will forever, never forget. At least fully anyway, the memory of being stalked will always be there.

~

This was really scary and please don't be like us, if you worry someone is stalking you, following you and/or having plans to take you to run, scream make a ruckus and anything else in between!

Do NOT make it easy for this person to grab you.

We thought it was funny at first until he wouldn't stop following us then we thought it was still funny but trying to lose him, by the time we figured out he actually was following us and wasn't going to go away, it was too late and we booked it before he could get too close to us.

Do not be like us!

BE SAFE OUT THERE!
