Chapter 1 - The Identity of a Frontliner

Picture me nine months ago.

I was sitting on my couch, listening to some awesome Christian music, particularly music from Corey Paul and Reconcile of the Frontline Movement, a Christian hip-hop group from Houston, Texas. Although I couldn't understand a word they were saying, I could clearly tell that they shared one thing in common, one thing that I feel this young generation seems to lack: identity in Christ.

Identity in Christ is the very core of the heart of a Frontliner, and it shapes who he is and how he lives his life for God.

I know this from experience, because I have been on a personal identity journey since 2012, when I first gave my life to Jesus.

It was a life-changing experience, one that changed the way I lived my life forever. If you want to learn more about my personal identity journey, stay tuned for the release of my third book in the My Identity Series.

As I was listening to my music, the light bulb went off in my spirit. I knew what it meant to "live Frontline" as CP (I always use CP as an abbreviation for Corey Paul's full name) has so frequently rapped about in every mixtape that he and Reconcile released.

It has nothing to do with getting a "Live Frontline" T-shirt (although I'd like to have one).

It has nothing to do with attending every single Frontline concert in your lifetime.

It is an attitude of the heart. It is a position of having your identity so rooted in Christ that no one can take that confidence from you.

I didn't find out what that meant until May 2021, when I really started diving into the meaning behind all the Houston passion. I later discovered that it was more than just the amazing lyrics, the heat from the verses, or the person behind the production, but it was a knowledge of identity in Christ and the God confidence that comes from it (for more on this topic, check out my latest book "IDENTITY: The Call to God Confidence").

The heart of a Frontliner, first and foremost, looks to God for strength and confidently relies on Him for wisdom to know what is next. Just like Corey Paul and Reconcile. If they can look up for confidence and strength, why can't we do the same?

Take some time to write below. What areas of your life do you need to redirect upwards? How can you "live Frontline" and show others how to do the same? Think about it, then write in the space provided.

Pray about it!

"Dear God, You are my confidence. Why do I look to others for strength and courage when You are the only One who can supply it? Forgive me for looking to anyone else but You. Help me to look up. Remind me that my identity is in You. In Jesus' Name, amen."

Cora: Decent story. Slightly predictable turn of events but I didn't think at this point it was a possible twist! I enjoy the stream of thought writing style this has, though some proofreading and punctuation could help a few spots. Recommend this for ebooks and forgive a few confusing errors. Enjoyable t...

Angela: A good story so far. I like Amora's character and the ideas such as, Aiden taken power over the pack and stripping Amora of her title.
