"Why?" she screeches. Anger had been forged in her eyes; a fire was nestled deep in her belly. She was venomous, vehement, and vicious. Her spine was arched with an achy tautness that she was refusing to give up.
She reminded me of a dragon. I could imagine her glory. I imagined her with ruby scales that glinted like flames in the sunlight. I could imagine what would be the soft arch in her neck as she hovered over her hoard. But, her hoard wouldn't be gold, no. It would be emotions. I've never seen so much passion packed into a singular person. She has more ardor in one day of her life that I'll ever possess in my entirety.
"Why, what?" I lazily threw back at her scream, coming 0ut of my thoughts.
"Why are you leaving?" A tear sprang out of her eye, and swept down her cheek. I could have sworn I saw steam.
"You're too much for me." But please don't ever dull your edges, dear. There's someone out there who can handle all the fire you've burned me with.
