Chapter 1

From when Lara Chesworth was little, she was baught up like any ordinary child, any ordinary little girl. Or so she thought. Lara lost her mother when she was 3, and the only memory she has of her, is when she used to sing to her, and the day she left.

Lara was taught self defence from the age of 2. By the age of 4 she could easily handle, and use, an Ak 47 and a sniper rifle. Lara thought every girl was taught this. She thought it was normal. Given that she was homeschooled by a family friend, she had no idea of the outside world.

After her mother disappeared, or died, her dad gave strict instructions to her nanny and butler not to let her come into contact with other children. Why? You may ask. Well Lara doesn't know. By the age of 6, her dad had moved her away from home, to another country. She didn't see much of her dad, but she kept herself busy when he was gone. She often wondered where he went or what he did, but he forbade her to ask of it, so she didn't. She grew up speaking 6 languages, knowing how to fight, and use any weapon that pretty much exists on this earth.

She never had much contact with other children, other than driving past and seeing them play on the swings in the park. She never understood the other children, for instance, she once saw a young girl get hit and pushed over by another child. Why didn't the girl fight back? Had she not paid attention to her training? If it was Lara, she would have given the other child an upper cut and a left hook. When her nanny would teach her, she was taught how to behave like a lady. You know, all that walking, talking, sitting, and "a young lady must always look her best, smell her best, and act her best" shit, but, when her butler, Charles, would teach her. It was a whole different story. She'd be learning marshel arts, kung fu, tai kwan do, all the cool stuff.

She had other people in her life. Like Jeremy, Charles' son, and his wife, and their son, and also her nanny's husband, Benny. Each one of them pretty much spoke a different language so she had to learn them all.

Just the other day, Lara turned 19. She'd had a small party with those who raised her, except for her father. He was on one of his business trips in the Caribbean or Italy or wherever. She hadn't expected him to come, but she did expect a gift wrapped in black paper as he had given her every year, but, this time there was no gift, but an envelope.

The envelope had a black wax seal that had a marking on it. A marking that seemed far too familiar. As soon as she walked into the living room with the letter in hand, Charles emerged from his seat, and as soon as he caught sight of the envelope, his face went as pale as a ghost. He said nothing and abruptly turned and quickly stalked out the room. Lara was puzzled. Just then, Nanny came in and said in her soft voice,

"Lara dear,.. Um, this is very late notice, but we need to leave."

Laura looked at her and frowned.
"Leave?? Leave where? Leave the house? or.....?"

" No dear. We need to leave the country. Come. We must pack your bags and send you off. " Nanny said smiling.

Lara could see the anxiety in her eyes and also how she tried her best to fake the smile. Lara looked at her and was about to complain and ask why, and then Nanny said the word. The word she hadn't heard since she was 6. Nanny had said 'Chameleon'. The one name that could change her world. It was the code name her dad told her when she or he were in danger. Lara's heart raced and she nodded to Nanny and went to pack her bags.

This couldn't be good. And what made it even worse is when Lara was not taking an international plane, she was taking a private jet....at 2am in the morning. Walking across the pavement towards the plane, she saw men in black suits and sunglasses, and a black suvs. As she got to the jet, a tall, braud man stood by her.

"Miss Chesworth. I'll be aboard the flight with you and ensure you safely arrive." He said in a blunt tone.

Lara spun her head around to look back at Nanny and Charles, but they were gone and nowhere to be seen. She knew what this meant. She nodded and dropped her gaze to the floor as she climbed the stairs to hide her tears. She was confused and sad, and had no prevue of what her future held.
