Chapter 1
It was a cold and windy morning. Mom was at work and dad said he was gonna go to the bank. I was bored and had nothing to do so I went out side. It was the first day of winter and was snowing hard outside so I grabbed my cloak. I wrote a note to say I went for a walk so then when mom or dad comes home they won’t worry too much. I started walking and met up with the wall that keeps the monsters out of the village.
Mother always told me not to go over the wall but I really wanted to know what was over there and if the monsters really where back there. I kept trying but it was really hard with all the snow and ice. So I finally made it on top. I looked over the wall then slipped on the ice that was hidden under the snow. When I hit the ground everything went black. I felt cold and lonely and wanted to go home but I couldn’t see or move.. after a little while I felt my body getting numb but I could move again. I got up and sprinted into the woods. I heard a weird noise like the wind slowly blowing and huge footsteps. The foot steps would get loud then fade and that would keep happening but then they just stopped.
I just kept sprinting and hid in this glowing bush. The bush reminded me of my home and how warm and safe it is. I started to hear little voices and they sounded like some buddy talking but I didn’t know who. Then there was loud footsteps... CHOMP!
