Chapter 1
Riley:
Emmett was taking me somewhere today, today he has to come over because it's the last day of summer and we planned to go out before the start of our senior year of high school.
I'm so excited to go out with him, we haven't hung out in forever because I've been gone on a cruise for two weeks with my mom, my dad died when i was only six.
I decided to look nice because he told me it's a surprise on where we are going so I'm not sure how to dress.
I curled my hair, wore a dress he loves on me and got my black high heels on, and texted them.
Riley: You taking forever where the hell are you?
Emmett: I'm a min away lmao, who got your panties in a bunch??
Riley: my "panties" are just fine, thank you very much.
Emmett: I'm here.
I rush outside to see him in his new car all dressed up in his tux, with his curly black hair and brown hazel eyes. His mouth drops open when he tells me " wow Ri... you look stunning".
I hop in the shiny new truck and say " don't go drooling over me now'
we both laugh.
Emmets pov
We arrive at the restaurant I took Ri to, I've been calling Riley "Ri" for years and she hates it. It's cute though. She looked so beautiful in the warm summer breeze, Riley has blonde curly hair with the brightest blue eyes and the warmest smile.
Yes, she's my best friend but she is the best-looking girl I've ever seen.
"What are you staring at weirdo?" she says
" Nothing you just look-"
she interrupts me and says " Oh shut up and order so we can eat I'm starving".
Riley talks about how her cruise went as jake walks over, I had no idea he was here.
" Riley please just let me-" jake says
I interrupt and silently yell at him saying " Jake your the one who verbally abused her for years and cheated on her, convincing Riley that, that was love. Just leave her goddamn alone for a fucking second in your life"
Jake walks away
" You didn't have to do that, I can handle him"
"I know but it's just an instinct, I hate that guy for what he did to you Ri."
After all the drama passed by Riley went on and on about her family cruise and how wonderful it was, and we enjoyed a nice dinner together, I missed her so much.
