Forgetting everything

Lara's POV

I was feeling a little dizzy, when I opened my eyes. I couldn't see anything properly, all I knew was that my surrounding were very strange. In a while, when my view got clear and I was able to make out that I was in a hospital. But the question 'Why am I here? What must have happened for me to end up here?' I came out of my thoughts when I saw a couple walking towards me. Approaching me one of them said "Honey, how are you feeling now?" to which I replied "I'm feeling better!" and questioned them "But who are you both? Why am I here? Why can't I recall anything? What..." I had too many questions I was looking answers to; cutting me off the female said "Honey, relax! I know you have many questions to ask. Let me answer them. It's okay if you can't remember anything, I'm your mother and he is your father." Pointing towards the male, she continued "We had an accident and you fell in a river and were long-cut from oxygen. After finding you when we took you here the doctor said that because of your head injury you are suffering from Amnesia, which means that you have lost all your memory." Just to change the topic and give me some space the male, who's apparently my father, said "I'll get the discharge work done so that we can go home. Till then you can get some rest." and left with the lady.

Within a few hours I was discharged and went back home. Where mom told me to sit on the sofa and gave me a glass of water and sat with dad In front of me. "Honey, are you comfortable?" she asked me and I nodded in response and asked "What exactly happened back then?"

"Darling, we were shifting from the old town to here. On that day while we were traveling the weather was not good it was raining heavily and the visibility was low, suddenly I saw a car with high speed approaching us. I turned the car to other side but lost control over it. You were sitting on the seat without seat belt, when the car crashed with the bridge fence you jumped and fell into the river. It took us about an hour to find you, even after the treatment you didn't wake up for three days. Sorry Honey, it's all my fault." My father explained.

"It isn't your fault at all Dad! It's all past now and what's more important is that I'm all fine." I tried to console him. I felt bad when he blamed himself.

"Let's not talk about it now. Let me tell you a little about you, so that you can go a head remembering your past and work on your better future. So your name is Lara..." my mother started telling me about myself, although she told me many things but I hardly remembered anything. It's frustrating when you don't even know who you are. But sometimes things are out of your hands and you just have to bare with it. So I decided to take things at a slower pace for now.

A few days later the schools in the city were ready for the new academic year. As a high school student I was very exited to go to school. Getting up at six in the morning, I got ready for school wearing white shirt, dark blue skirt, blue string bow tie, a pair of white socks and sneakers. I took my black bag and dropped all of my required things inside it. As it was my first day I had to report early than any other student to get my class schedule.

Standing in front of the school building I was glaring at the students moving around. A lot of things were going on in my head, moreover I was nervous for how the days were going to change from now on for me. As I stepped in the gates, I saw something but ignored it. I held my head high and walked confidently towards the building, crossing the play ground. I entered the building without a doubt and then the teacher's room. As I lost my memory all the details were told to the school. But one thing was left, I had to submit my prescription. As I was conversing with my class teacher, my attention was drawn by a student entering a room, who was badly beaten up. His face was all red and was bleeding from nose, his glasses were even broken. Just after him a teacher entered the room and sat on her seat and asked him to sit. My class teacher rushed towards them to help manage the situation better.

"What happened to you, how did you end up this way?" The teacher asked.

"It's nothing I... I just slipped on stairs." The student tried to explain but it was a white lie, the way he was so badly hurt couldn't just be stairs. I remember when I was coming I a group of students beating someone I didn't see them clearly but maybe it was him who got beaten up.

When I was just about to speak up about what I saw, I was stopped by a hand holding my arm.when I turned around to see who it was, there stood a girl with oceanic blue eyes and long brown hair with bangs reaching her eyebrows.

"Don't speak anything even if you know or you'll call more trouble for him and yourself. They'll beat him even more." she whispered asking me not to say anything.

"But it's wrong. He needs to tell the truth..." I was trying to speak but got interpreted by a voice coming from outside.

"He's lying. I saw Kerry and his friends beating him up, just because he didn't gave them some money. They have been doing this for quite some time now." he spoke while coming in. I felt a little relieved at least the truth was revealed now. This boy, who have a good height, maybe 6 feet or so, with a perfect body, is quite interesting.

With a few minutes in silence and tears in the boy's eyes, the teacher looked at me with the blue eye girl who was still holding my arm tight and then the boy who spoke the truth, he spoke to the boy "She's a new student in our class" pointing towards me. 'Our class! So we all are in the same class.' "Take her to the class." He continued with him and gave me a signal to leave with the two of them.

The three of us walked out leaving the two teachers and the student behind. The boy walked ahead leaving the two of us behind which I felt was a little rude. He could have walked with us.

"Hello, I'm Esme. Welcome to the class!" The girl greeted.

"Hey, I'm Lara. Nice to meet you."

"Same here, don't think much about the matter. And stay as much as away from Kerry and his gang. They might try to bully you as you are new but don't worry we'll handle it together." she said in order to calm me down and I just smiled. It was not even an hour that had entered the school and things were getting worse.

As we entered the class, all students started staring at me, it was awkward as if I was an alien. But it was natural as they didn't know me.

"Umm... there's a empty seat behind mine. You can sit there. Come!" Esme spotted an empty spot for me to sit.

As we sat down I looked up to see who my partner was. No, why is it him! 'The honest guy' as I named him until I don't know his name. By the time I was analyzing the situation I was in. Esme was jumping with excitement to know about me, she had a lot of questions to ask and it was the same with the other student in the class and even students of the other classes gathered near the room. Now that was something I least expected.

"You made such an VIP entry!" Esme said while laughing and even I busted into laughter. While we laughed our homeroom teacher (class teacher) came in. He wasn't in a good mood, well that was obvious after what all had happened.

"As you all have seen that we have a new student in our class, so let's have a quick introduction. You may stand and tell us about yourself." he said referring me.

"Hello everyone, my name is Lara. I might sound a little weird while saying that I don't remember anything about my life before, but yes it's true. I had an accident few days ago and when I woke up in the hospital, I couldn't recall anything. But leaving all this a side I still hope we can get together well." I introduced myself with all confidence I had.

The class kept passing, even though it was the first day but class schedule was hectic, but it was the break time and I could relax a bit now.

"Come let's go to cafeteria before it's too crowded there. Come fast Julia. Oh I forgot to introduce her, she is my friend Julia." Esme introduced me to a new friend.

"Hello, Lara. You are so beautiful. No doubt all the boys of the other classes gathered near the class." Julia complimented me.

The three of us chatted a little while we walked to the cafeteria.

We took plates and stood in the queue. All the students were running here and there but some were exceptions who didn't like to run but sit and relax, just like me. As we sat down, I saw the honest guy sitting with another guy, probably his friend.

"That's cool!" both Esme and Julia stated.

"What happened?" I asked in utter shock as of what they were thinking.

"Look at the crowd of boys near us!" Esme said excitedly. When I looked around most of them were staring at me, but looked away as I saw them. "Weird! Well leave them, tell me something about that 'honest guy'." I think that was abrupt but I was curious, so I couldn't help but ask.

"You mean Aaron! He is the most popular boy in our school. Many girls confess him every day. See there's an example." Esme explained me. When I turned my head towards him. I saw a girl standing by his side holding a baby pink heart-shaped tin box, which was probably filled with chocolates or paper craft. But he didn't even look at her and left with no expression on his face. "How rude!" I exclaimed.

"The show isn't over yet!" Julia stated as we saw a girl approaching with a phone in her hand. "Well, that's something worth uploading, I think it would get at least ten thousand likes."

"Who's she?" I asked.

"She is Sarah, the most popular girl in the school and have a crush on Aaron." Esme told.

"No, your wrong. It's Lara now, the most popular girl." Julia informed, which was shocking. But right now I was more interested in the two girls.

"Look at y-o-u-r-s-e-l-f!" Sarah said revolving around her. That was creepy, very creepy!

"What a witch!" I commented but she couldn't listen.

"How ugly you are, how dare you think that he will even like you. You ugly creature!" she continued. While the girl was embarrassed and had started crying. No one was helping the girl but were more busy laughing at the situation.

I stood up from my seat and gave the girl some tissues I had in my pocket and gestured her to sit with us on, as we were about to sit, Sara couldn't stand her prey being taken away so spoke up "Running away won't make you less ugly!"

"Enough of this drama! Who do you think you are to say all these things to her, his girlfriend, his personal assistant or his mother!" I lashed out at Sarah.

"Ain't you the new girl?"

"Yes I'm, so what?"

"You..." Before Sarah completed her sentence she stopped.

"What's going on with you two?" Aaron asked standing behind me.

"Ask your girlfriend, what is she up to!" I answered him in the rudest manner  and walked past him.

"What about your lunch? You barely had anything!" Julia asked me. "You guys carry on, I lost my appetite!" I replied and walked out.

Back in the class, I placed my head on the table, closing my eyes. Things were still going on in my head. 'It was the first day and I've even started a fight'. I knew it was going to last long but still I don't regret was I did.

"This is for you, Aaron asked me to bring it to you." the boy who was sitting with Aaron before said, kept a bottle of soy milk and left. Just in a few minutes Aaron came inside the room.

"Save this for your girlfriend, Mister!" I said placing the bottle on the table. Without saying anything he sat beside me, facing me. "I'm sorry for what happened and thanks for taking stand for her and teaching Sarah a good lesson. Well, she isn't my girlfriend. Oh, by the way my name is Aaron."

"Aaron, why are you talking to her. She bullied me in front of everyone!" Sarah said standing behind Aaron.

"Everyone knows who bullied whom!" Esme lashed out.

"You..."

"Sarah haven't you had enough of it!" I stated calmly as I was irritated with it.

"Aaron, see they are bullying me again." Sarah tried to gain his sympathy.

"Back to your seat, Sarah. And you calm down." Aaron tried to control the situation. While Sarah kept glaring me as if she was saying 'Just you wait!'
