~Awakening~

Sophie's POV:

It's another Monday again, the alarm blares waking me up from my peaceful sleep. I struggled to turn off the alarm but I ended falling off the bed, quickly jumped on my feet and it's 5:00am.

The weather's chilly and I'm in no mood to shower but I have to get to work. I've been working at Berkeley Square Solicitors, London, it's been a roller coaster since I started working my first job after college. Whew adulthood and responsibilities, it's been just me and father since mother passed; and father has been working tirelessly all his life to fend for me with his eatery at Rivington, my hometown.
Went to college in the city and now I live here, I work for Steve Berkeley and I'm still learning on the job; I quickly rushed in to draw myself a warm bath and quickly I brushed my teeth and did my hair, I have to be at work by 7:00 before my boss comes in..I dressed up quickly putting on a knee length skirt and a sleeve with low pair of heels, got my coat and applied subtle lipgloss, usually I'm not big on make up unless it's an event and I left my apartment.

Driving downtown I stopped by to get coffee for my boss and myself then I quickly rushed down to work.
Walked straight into the elevator and greeted the staffs I came across

"Good morning Sophie"

Mrs Lance the front desk officer said with a smile and I smiled back

"good morning Mrs Lance you look stunning"

I walked straight to my cabin dropped my bag and took my boss's coffee straight to his office, he wasn't there yet; checked my time and I still had time to chitchat before work starts, met up with my colleagues Matt and Theresa at the office kitchen(I think they are dating),we exchanged pleasantries when I heard murmur from the office and it was a sign that my boss is around and then I overheard him asking for me..

I ran into the office and welcomed him telling him his coffee is on his desk and I followed him into his office. He gave me a pile of documents and told me to sort them out and prepare to go court at 11am, it's festive season and trust me a part of me was already back at home with my father but going to court with my boss especially was fun because we always won cases and they all applaud us... so I picked up myself and tended to the documents and booked lunch ahead then prepared for court.
Going to the court house we usually use my boss’ car and prep on our way,I don't usually speak,my boss does all the talking and I provide the requested docs to back up our case and it was a land related case which my boss Steve Berkeley won... our client was overwhelmed with joy but it was no news that my boss was nicknamed

"the finisher"

he almost never losses a case, my baddass boss beckoned on me that we should leave and immediately I started packing up, on our drive back to the office he asked if I had plans for the holidays and I told him yes I'm going home and he told me to check my account that he wired my pay already,I almost jumped in excitement because it wasn't even the complete month and yet my boss was overly generous; he then told me thank you for working so hard and diligently alongside him these past few months that he didn't think I'd last this long with the firm, I gave him an assuring nod and he tells me you have just this week Sophie, finish all your pending jobs and off you go. The week went by peacefully and I made sure to finish my work before going home to pops for the holidays…
