Not-Quite-Phased
"First of all, I want to apologize for the such low rating. My first impression of this novel, Not A Phase, was that Koda reminded me of myself, in small ways of course. I struggled with a cheating boyfriend, a quiet and easily deceived home, anger that, gone unfiltered and restraint, usually led me to hurt others, or myself. And while the plot proved very reasonable and full of real life-based events that could happen to pretty much everyone, there are some serious delays in the product so far. I absolutely loved the intro, it pulled me in. The first chapter was going alright, albeit long paragraphs of character speeches, whereas i’m more used to shorter dialogue. Grammar in these scenes are a bit difficult to read, and as a heads up, it is the writers job to do their best with grammar and literature structures, as readers shouldn’t be worried about what they are tying to read, but more strongly HOW the plot line and character development is affecting them. Lastly, it took me a couple rereads to figure out which scenes were flashes of Koda’s past, and which one’s were products of her present decisions. All in all, I enjoyed reading the nine chapters posted, and am adequately encouraged to redefine my review once Your’s, and Koda’s story is complete. Keep up the writing, i can tell it’s not long from becoming an Inkitt winner!"
