Totally absorbing
"I have to say that this is one of the most interesting stories that I've read in a long time. I've read many reviews on this first book out of the 18 books the author has written on the series, over at Amazon and quite a few of them were disappointed or gave bad reviews or didn't seem to like it for various reasons...like one reason from a couple of obviously insecure women who didn't like that the author made the character of Angela a beautiful woman which is simply stupid and says a lot about them as people. But regarding the quality of the story, I can only speak for myself. I've read many books... I would say thousands in my life so far and I have various genres that I love and science fiction and fantasy are one of the biggest. I am also a writer myself. Although at first l admit all of the characters that the author was introducing were rather overwhelming and kind of hard to keep track of, but eventually reading more of the story I finally was able to remember each character.. but the main thing that I loved about this was that it kept my interest every step of the way. I can honestly say that unlike many other novels that I've read, there was not one boring part in this story. However having said that, there were things I didn't like about it. It seemed like the author was obsessed with rape and there were many difficult, violent parts that were kind of hard to get through. And I didn't like that in this day and age with people trying to pay more attention to their health, she included main characters who smoked cigarettes and who also smoked weed. I found that not cool at all, certainly not Glam and just disgusting. I mean as I said the main character Angela was a stunningly beautiful woman but then smoked cigarettes and weed and I don't know it just makes her less beautiful in my eyes because of that. I got a feeling that the author herself does both and that's why she put it in her book. But that's just a personal distaste of mine not wanting to read about the heroes of the stories doing really bad habits like that, and as I said, the main thing is that the story kept my interest. I loved many of the characters and I'm looking forward to the second book. "
