Ignorance

It’s great to have fun

And it’s nice to have someone

But I want to move past being the other one

We were together all day

And at night you were still by my side

But life has this way

You think the going is great but you still have to pay

Attraction isn’t always a two way street

It’s much more than that

And this kind is never upbeat

I wondered if I’d ever be complete

Cause living in that wishful bliss was a marvelous feel

Some say the truth always stings

While some believe it’s bitter

All I know is it hurts whenever and whoever

Its childish to say

But avoiding reality always seems like the right way

They say ignorance is bliss

And avoiding is amiss

But

ignorance is the closest thing to happiness

Who am I to sit back and complain

When I’ve been pained but also been the reason for pain

Looking past her was impossible

But looking past the truth was unavoidable

People come and people go

Love strikes and leaves a blow

And

Pain is the old bastard which is hard to let go

Many fall to this stick

It is after all realities oldest trick

Optimism leads the way

But this false clarity can lead you astray

The truth is hard to swallow

It might just be better to be hollow

Let the the actuality pass right by

Rather than pass through and leave a black eye

Some may call it cowardice

And some may call it cowardly

All I know the method is full proof and to the t

Cause ignorance is a bliss

And avoiding is amiss

But ignorance is the closest thing to happiness
