Who am I?
Hello friends! A very warm welcome to you all. Thank you for visiting and taking the time to read through my thoughts. I really appreciate it.
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Bhaskari Mahendra. I have varied hobbies and some of them are extremely common like listening to music. đ But I truly do like listening to music; Silence by Beethoven is one of my most favourite classical pieces of all time. I love reading fiction and watching interesting content. I am a polyglot and I am currently learning a new language.
I donât know how you came by this very first post of mine, but just in case you havenât checked my bio, I want to let you all know up front that I am writing under a pen name. Now one might wonder what exactly I am going to write in this blog that I need to take a pseudonym. I mean it canât be so controversial that I have to hide my identity. No-no. No worries on that front. Let me tell you what I will be posting about here.
You might have already guessed from the name that I am from India. So, I want to specifically write and discuss stories from the various mediums our modern storytellers are using to share with us the wonderful worlds and characters their minds have given birth to. This is definitely not limited to the novels we read, but also television, OTTs, cinema and radio as well. I hope to really discuss the story-telling aspect of these shows and novels and short stories and how it captures our hearts so we can appreciate the talent we sometimes take for granted. Writing something original, fresh and building characters and a world from zero is no easy task. Needless to say, I will also talk about what, as a reader or a listener of the story, I would have liked to have been explored or given more thought to within the story itself.
I want to highlight here that I will also be talking about our very own Indian TV shows which get a lot of flak from us. đ But it will exclusively be from a readerâs point of view. These, too, after all, are stories that are brought to us albeit a visual medium.
When it comes to written material, I will be reading books from multiple genres. You will know more as you see me posting more about the various novels that I have loved reading so much that I keep on gravitating towards them periodically.
However, for any such content, a warning is a must. I will be writing about all these stories with spoilers. Yes, spoilers will ALWAYS be included. You have been warned, reader dearest.
As I have mentioned above, I am a polyglot and I read and watch content in other languages as well. So, I hope to include content from those languages here. People who have learned or are learning English can easily find books in this language in English-speaking countries. It would truly be refreshing though if I can introduce our stories to the rest of the world.
You can also find my posts on other platforms like WordPress and Wattpad. My posts there will be in a book format. Articles about shows will be under the showsâ titles and novels (if in a series by an author) will be under the series name with the authorâs name mentioned.
But that does not explain why I have opted to use a pen name to express myself. Well⊠I am inherently a private person and I donât actually like talking about or discussing my private life. I do have other interests and want to share my thoughts about them. Having a community to share and discuss these topics is something I am really interested in. But sometimes, the focal point of a topic moves from the subject at hand to personal comments. This is something I would like to avoid completely.
We all have to remember this saying, âIf you canât say anything good about someone, at least donât say anything negative.â So #positivevibes only. đ
Again, thank you for taking the time to read my long-long post. Do comment below and let me know if you would like me to write about any book or show that you have truly enjoyed and want it discussed on this platform.
