Bella

When I was six years old my mother told me about how the mate pull worked. She said that it felt like you would die if you weren’t near your mate enough.

*****

On my 8th birthday my mom got the news that my father had died after challenging the alpha. My mom locked herself in a room for a week and left my sister Cleo to take care of me.

Cleo was 15 years older than me. She loved me a lot I could tell and my mom often got mad at the amount she cared for me. She read to me and rushed to my side any time I was hurt. She cooked for me. she cleaned up after me and even took responsibility for my mistakes. She cared about me more than my mom did. My mom loved me but she always acted distant especially after my fathers death.

About a week before my 10th birthday Cleo and my mother got into a fight. I can’t remember everything they said but I do remember when my sister said “She deserves the truth. Why can’t you accept reality! She is .... my child and i made a mistake trusting you with her.” What did my sister just say!

“No! She is mine. You aren’t prepared to have her.” My mother.... well my grandmother stated.

She pleaded to the girl i thought was my sister “Please lets just go for a drive and talk about this OK?

They left that day telling me that they were going to the store.

Their bodies where found in my grandmother's car, they had crashed into Swan lake. They were gone for a week. On my 10th birthday I was labeled as an orphan.

The pack looked down on me as a cursed child. And without my family there to prevent the truth from coming out I slowly learned about how I came to be.

My Mothers name was Cleo Minx. She had me at 15 and convinced my grandmother to act as my parent. My mother lost her mate and found out she was pregnant a month later. And at 10 years old my grandmothers selfishness killed the both of them.

Growing up no one talked to me. Every adult thought I was cursed, and every kid my age found me repulsive. When I turned 16 I became consciously aware of my wolf, Nelly, and so I went on a thieving strike. Through these actions I discovered that she and I shared a love for stealing.

We stole because everyone thought we were thieves anyway. At one point though when I was eighteen I stole from a very attractive guy, and the second I looked at him my whole world lit up.

“MATE” Nelly screamed

But just as I started to speak the guy shoved me to the ground and said “you are worthless. No ONE will ever want you. I REJECT YOU. Now get lost you rotten vermin.”

I stopped stealing after that. In fact I avoided people all together. I had 4 chance mates after that boy and they all rejected me.

Here I was alone and unwanted.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
