I Need You (Excerpt from Trial by Fire)

One day before they were to be summoned, Poppy and Xilo gave the young erodeseans their much awaited “free time”, as Nike had put it. While the younglings were away, they had retired to their own quarters within the House. Their room did not have furnishings, it was unbecoming of a high ranking officer to embellish themselves with such pursuits.

While maintaining their gear on their mats, Poppy scooted over so she was closer to Xilo. Xilo saw her out of the corner of her eye and acted as if she didn’t. Poppy scooted yet another inch closer. This time, Xilo turned her head so Poppy couldn’t see her slight grin. Poppy scooted one more time, then paused suddenly when she made an unceremoniously loud screech as her bark scratched the floor. Xilo laughed then turned to look at Poppy.

“Oh, by the Great Star, that is embarrassing.” Xilo said as Poppy looked at her bashfully with her pink eyes.

Xilo playfully looked left and right, then scooted closer. They both did this until the bark of their knees touched. Then, for five minutes straight they ignored each other. Suddenly, Xilo dropped a cleaning tool on Poppy’s thigh as it spun down, clinking on the floor and landing between her legs. Poppy looked impishly at Xilo, then went to grab it for her. Xilo grabbed her wrist tightly and craned her neck towards her ear, whispering “honey-sap, I got it.”

Poppy bit her lip as Xilo put her hot tongue on her neck, the heat radiating up and down as energy filled her body. Xilo picked up the tool and threw it backwards. Poppy and Xilo started throwing equipment they had just cleaned aside as Xilo moved her tongue around her body. As she dragged it around her bark, the skin underneath started to heat up with a red glow.

Xilo pounced on top of her, taking her time to worship every crevice of the thick legged erodesean. As her hands glided around her body, she whispered in Poppy’s ear, teasing her. Poppy let out a loud moan as Xilo put her hand over her mouth and said “shhh.” Between full lips she gently bit her fingers.

As Xilo continued to caress her, Poppy put one knee under her belly then pushed up. Xilo flipped over with Poppy sliding on top of her.

“Your turn.” Poppy said as Xilo turned over and arched her back as she climbed on top. Poppy, with her hand beneath Xilo’s chin grinded on top of her. Energy shot between the two, pink and red flashes lighting up the room. Poppy looked back as she rode her and grabbed the back of her thigh, red light vibrating between their bodies.

Xilo flattened out then turned around and kissed her lover. With legs intertwined they moved together as one, slow at first, then faster and faster. With her hand behind Xilo’s neck, Poppy passionately looked her in the eyes as they both climaxed. No longer stifling their moans, they both let out a deep sigh of pleasure as their sap churned with contentment. The energies that had once brightly lit the room were now starting to slowly pulse away.

They laid together, touching each other’s hair and casually kissing for about ten minutes. With a look of satisfaction, Poppy spoke as their lips were just a hair apart.

“Promise me…” she said forlornly.

Xilo responded, her pinkish eyes searching her for answers.

“What, love?”

Poppy kissed her deeply then spoke.

“Promise me, that if we make it out of this alive, that this is it. We leave this all behind, just us out there in a great big world.”

One tear left Xilo’s right eye as she held Poppy tight and spoke in her ear.

“I give you my soul that we one day leave this all behind, as long as I draw life.”

They both cried as they said “I love you” in unison and held each other until it hurt.
