A Slacker's Road Map of the Universe
"I clicked into this book thinking, "Wow, it sure does seem like the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy." Halfway though the book, I looked back at the title and realized, "Wow, I'm reading a parody of the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy." But the Slacker's Guide is much more than that. Though the premise may be similar, this book was filled chock full with action and occasionally vulgar descriptions and words. **Be warned, there IS some (a lot) vulgarity and quite a lot of strong scenes that those with a weak stomach won't be able to handle.** I skipped the entire prologue because of how long and informative it was. This happens occasionally during the book, but not much so don't worry about lengthy descriptions. Grammar-wise the writing and vocabulary is sophisticated, but I noticed A LOT of run ons and misplaced commas. Kind of off-putting, but it can be dealt with. After finishing the book I'm still extremely confused at what happened, but it was a good experience. Note, though, that the author says there will be a sequel, but there isn't one. "
