Prologue
I didn’t think that it was possible to end up in the situation that I was currently in and to make it worse there was nothing that could have prepared me for it. My brain was still trying to process what and why it was happening.
The last thing I remembered was heading to the bar with my best friend and having a couple of drinks. Then I woke up to being in a dark room and tied to a bed. The ties were done so tight that I was sure that there would be bruises left for days to come.
I groaned as I tried pulling on the restraints and knowing how loud it sounded, it probably notified the person who currently held me captive.
“Elijah!” I heard before seeing the door to the room open and a bright light shine through. The person that followed through was the last person I expected.
“Drey?” I questioned.
“So glad of you to join me, Eli.” The smile that came on his face creeped me out.
Drey, my best friend of ten years, looked at me in a way that made chills run through my spine. There was this look in his eyes that just screamed crazy and it didn’t help that he had this smile on his face that just complimented his crazed gaze.
“You’ve been sleeping for so long I was actually beginning to feel worried. How are you doing my love?” I gulped the saliva that had gathered in my mouth before deciding to speak.
“What’s going on Drey? I-I don’t understand what I’m doing here and why I’m even tied to this bed.” I didn’t even know why I bothered to ask, I already knew the answer to the question.
For about five of the ten years I was close to Drey there had been something off in his behaviour. I realized that he had started to act differently. He started being more clingy and began expecting that I would spend all my time with him and only him.
If that hadn’t been enough of a sign that something was off I should have acknowledged it when he wanted to control who I hung out with and how long I spent hanging out. I still decided to ignore it, thinking that there was nothing wrong.
“Stop acting so clueless Elijah, it fucking pisses me off.” He used his left hand to grab my shirt and express his frustration and used his other hand to run it through his bleached curled locks in exasperation. “You’ve known for so long and it’s the fact that you know is what’s making this even more frustrating.”
Drey was a dark-skinned male that quite obviously worked out and had a couple of tattoos over his toned chest and arms. His eyes were dark brown and turned a lighter shade when in sunlight and only served to pull to his attraction. Then there was his chiselled jaw that did wonders for his looks. Of course, not everyone appreciated the beauty that Drey possessed but I surely did and didn’t mind openly sharing that appreciation.
“I love you, Elijah.” He sighed as he said that.
“No you don’t Drey, you don’t,” I told him.
“If you don’t feel the same way then tell me but don’t tell me that my love for you isn’t true. I know that I love you, Elijah, I know.” I could feel the anger that was beginning to roll off his body, the annoyance he was slowly developing.
“Drey, you’re obsessed with me. Obsession is not love.” I sighed as I said that. Had I been held hostage by anyone else I wouldn’t be talking to them like this but it was Drey and I knew that even if he was fed up with me he wouldn’t do anything wrong to me.
“It isn’t an obsession.” His teeth were gritted and that was when I realized that I was no longer talking to my best friend but the obsessed person that I allowed to get this far.
In a swift movement, he mounted my body and attached his lips to my own. The kiss, if I could even call it that, was harsh and despite the little effort I put into resisting it did absolutely nothing. He molested my lips, biting against the flesh before shoving his tongue inside.
The fact that it was a male did nothing to me because in my mind I was pansexual if my dating history proved to be any evidence. I just didn’t like being forced to do something that was against my will. That was a major turn off and no matter the physical attraction I may have felt for Drey the romantic attraction was a constant push and pull.
Several of my exes had expressed their feelings of second-place whenever they were around Drey and me and I understood that. In fact, I tried changing it but there was so much that I could do when Drey wasn’t that accepting. Then there was the fact that many of my romantic relationships had eventually ended as a result of my platonic relationship with Drey.
It didn’t take a fucking scientist to see or realize that Drey had amorous feelings towards me but to my dismay, people began suggesting that I felt the same way. Drey was my best friend and nothing more and the number of times I’ve had to repeat that it began sounding as if I was trying to convince myself more than anyone else.
As Drey continued his assault, I felt my body beginning to react to it. It hadn’t been by choice but I couldn’t help but give in to the temptations. My lips began moving in sync with his own, tongues fighting against each other.
“You’re so beautiful Eli.” He whispered softly while rubbing my cheek. “Well I’m going to get us some food, you must be hungry since you’ve been asleep for so long.”
“Won’t you let me loose, I promise that I won’t try to run or anything?” I pleaded with him.
“You’ve made a lot of promises to me Elijah and you’ve broken many of them, I don’t think I have any reason to believe you right now so why don’t you just be a good boy and wait until I get back. I’ll leave the television on so that you won’t get bored.” Drey left not even bothering to hear whatever I had to say.
For some strange reason, I didn’t feel scared, that didn’t make me feel any better or make me want to leave this position any slower. I knew that Drey wasn’t in his right mind and that was one of the main reasons I wanted to leave before it got out of control especially if he ends up doing something that he would later regret.
The restraints, however, were done in such a tight bind that no matter how much I pulled they would not pull. All they provided was a soreness around my wrists and ankles. It only got worst as I realized that my mouth couldn’t even reach the ties. This was going to be harder than I expected.
Albeit, there was hope when I realized that I had pulled against the ropes so much that they began to show signs of being worn down. It wasn’t by that much but I knew that if I persisted then eventually thin out enough that I could probably slip at least one hand through, the rest would work itself out.
“Eli, I got your favourite! Luckily I got a courier service to deliver.” He sounded so excited to tell me that he got me food.
“The Panda?” As soon as I thought of having food from Panda Express me stomach began grumbling and I realized just how hungry I actually was.
“Yup!” He was all smiles as he took out the food to feed me. His smile stretched across his face as he brought a piece of the orange chicken to my mouth.
It didn’t take long for most of the food to eventually finish, resulting in Drey cleaning up and leaving the room again. As soon as he left I began working on the ties once more. Unlucky for me, Drey walked in too soon and saw me pulling against them and, like expected, his anger was immense.
The smile that he originally had was immediately wiped from his face as it morphed to show his anger. His brows lowered, pulling together in a frown with his jaws clenching and a slight show of his teeth.
I rarely saw Drey get infuriated and even, by some stretch of the imagination, I experienced his wrath I was usually not on the receiving end. So this was a new encounter for me.
“And then you expect me to trust you enough to let you lose?!” He screamed before rushing off. In, what felt like, under a minute he was back with some more chords and a pair of scissors. “I’ll just tie them tighter and bundle them up so that they can be thicker.”
He spent about ten minutes grumbling and working on my restraints and all I could do was lie there and watch as he worked. He didn’t even bother himself to remove the old, worn ones that I was working on.
“Drey,” I whispered, trying to get his attention.
“Don’t Drey me! I don’t want to hear it. I knew that I should have gotten the fucking gag!” He took some deep breaths, seemingly trying to calm himself down before he spoke again. “Listen, Elijah, you’re here for your own safety and I just want you to see that. I’m not doing this because I get off on seeing you tied up…”
“Don’t give me that bullshit!” I knew that he got off on this, especially by that slightly crazed look in his eyes.
“So maybe I do get off on this but you have to trust me, Eli. I’m just doing what’s best for us. You’ll thank me when the time comes.” Once he finished saying that he made his way to lie on my sprawled body, wrapping his hands around my waist and snuggling into my chest.
Despite the uncomfortable situation, I was currently in, I felt oddly comfortable and that freaked me out.
