Summary

There is a prophecy that indicates that the Relic stone will grant any power to those who obtain it, but this tale only leads to death and destruction. She half-expected and not expected this situation to have occurred, but there she went. Her dress tangled between her legs as gravity brought her down. She plummeted down the cliff as fear loomed in her eyes. Her screams were stifled by the lack of air, her mind reeling in horror as all the worst case scenarios popped into her mind. She was weak from his suffocating grasp, but she tried her hardest to keep an eye on those three standing at the cliff. Gravity had other plans for her, making her dance upon the sides of the cliff multiple times and snagging her clothes. Charlotte wondered if she had been lucky in that small moment as she dropped upon a branch extending out. Her waist cried in agony as she snapped to a stop. “Shall we head back Admiral Viktor?” His voice was still within earshot. The auburn struggled to look up at the one who commanded the pirates. He must have watched her plummet down and chuckled at her expense when she caught the wood. She struggled past her pain to deliver a dark glare. She noticed his calculated look and the smirk that played upon his lips. He knew something that she did not and then the resounding crack finally echoed in her ears.

Prologue

THERE WAS MUCH to be said when they journeyed to end the chaos. It was said that if one were to find the legendary Relic Stone, any wish would come true. So they traveled following what they believed would save them. They never expected to find the legendary stone but there it lay in plain view. Eeriness seeped into the cavern that housed it, and the feeling only enhanced ominously as they surged entered the space.

A girl stepped forward from the group, her hazel eyes trained on the lit object resting on the pedestal. She was hesitant to touch it, but with her friends’ reassuring nods she reached for the mysterious piece.

It began to speak with clarity once she had touched the opaque and clear stone. Over and over again, it repeated the same legend that they all knew by heart within their fabled books. Her auburn hair lifted all around her as the cavern lit up like burning-white fire. Her body started to float up, a strange sensation erupting between each and every one of them. An individual sporting raven hair tried to reach for her, his hand barely missing her extended hand as she lifted higher and higher in the air. He collapsed, along with the rest of their crew, as a wave of drowsiness hit them all. Before the whole group lost consciousness on that cavern’s water-speckled stone, the echoing of her legend rang loud in each of their ears.

The legend of The Relic:

A power once great and surely sought after

A flower so pure only the tainted know its laughter

The Stones of Relic calls you, pirates

The goal of all scurvy fools and tyrants:

Find the sacred jewels power; but be warned.

The price for this is eternal slumber and scorn
