Chapter 1
As the waves of the Avisan Sea crash on the cliffs of Alynthia, all seams well within the wall and all is at peace. Or so they thought.
Within the walls of the palace, violence roams the halls. The King Theoden of Alynthia is seen by his people as a kind-hearted man, who cares and protects all. The people of Alynthia believe he is a happy man who cares for his wife but that's what is shown on the outside.
King Theoden and his wife Queen Sayanna were just finishing with the royal council when one of the maids came rushing in. "His majesty, Her majesty. Dinner is ready in the dining hall" she said as she bowed to the King and Queen. King Theoden, with out a second thought, shooed the maid away and walked with Queen Sayanna to their chambers.
As they walked with their heads held high, they passed many maids and servants. With as much strength as she could the Queen smiled at each and everyone of them, hiding the sorrowful expression she carry's with her.
While many would think her life was perfect, that was only what was shown beyond the palace. Even within the palace of Alynthia many thought Queen Sayanna had a perfect life. Once the King and Queen reach their chambers, everything changes.
What they once thought to be a happy marriage turned to be ferocity. Within their chamber King Theoden runs mad. All his anger is taking out upon Queen Sayanna for no reason what so ever. Queen Sayanna knows it wasn't always like this and she only remains and endurs the pain due to her kingdom. Although that might not be the only reason. Sayanna beleives that her once loving and caring husband will always be loving and caring but right now he might just be stressed. While this might not be true, Sayanna only hoped it was.
In the King and Queens chamber, King Theoden begins to change into his formal dinner wear while the Queen sits on the edge of the bed. She knew what was coming. She only waited and thought back to when all was well. It became clear to her at that moment she realized that all of his aggression began two years ago.
It was a tragic time for the king. He had just lost his mother. She was the last thing he had. Sayanna was close with Theodens mother. Theoden's family never ruled Alynthia. The kingdom was Sayannas and was passed down to her from her father. Theodens mother was always the sweetest. It's no wonder why Theoden would be angry his mother is gone.
While Sayanna continued to sit upon the bed, she pieced this knew realization together. To her it all made sense and she began to think Theoden was not stressed at all. He was grieving. This again wasn't the reason for his abuse and aggression but Sayanna didn't know any better. She was blinded by what she thought was love.
As the king finished getting dressed, Sayanna got up and began to change as well. She went to the bathroom and locked the door. This way Theoden couldn't come in and hurt her. She feared being alone with him in their chamber.
She finished getting dressed and freshened up. When she walked out Theoden was waiting for her near the door. He looked as if he was on edge and irritated. Sayanna hurried trying not to anger him more.
As they walked to the dining hall, Sayanna smiled, putting her facade back up. She hid all of her fears and pain as the continued to the dining hall.
