I awoke to someone screaming my name. "ANGEL?!" I sat up and looked around. "ANGEL?!" Oh no. I overslept again. I quickly got out of bed and ran downstairs. "Y-yes?" I stuttered. My dad looked over at me. "Yo ass should've been up hours ago. You know you supposed to be making these sandwiches. Get over here." He said. I walked over to him. "No, first go upstairs and change." I walked away. My mama said. "No, stay and fix these damn sandwiches." He said. I came back. "Upstairs Angel." My mama said. "Stephanie!!" He yelled at her. "And what the fuck you gon do? Not a damn thing. Angel go upstairs and get ready baby." She said. I walked briskly upstairs. I took my bath. As I soaked, I stared at my tail.



Everyone now hates me. That's because they're jealous. Why would they be jealous Sky? Because you're a hybrid and they're not. I make one mistake and they hold it against me for the rest of my life. And because of it they bumped me down to Omega. I know. Its not fair. It as an accident. I tried telling them but no one listens. The only ones who will is Kyanna and my mama. True. Fuck everyone. They big mad. Hold your head up high. I got out and dried off. I brushed my teeth, put on some clothes, and went downstairs.

I started working on the sandwiches. My mama and dad were in the next room arguing again. "So you're gonna protect her over your own husband?" He said. "Hell yeah. That's my baby. Jerome, you need to stop treating her like this." She said. "I'm not the one who transformed into a fuckng fish. The whole pack is laughing at us. At me. Because of that bitch." He said. I heard her slap him. "If you ever call her a bitch again-" she was cut off. It sounded like he pushed her. "Bitch you put yo put fucking hands on me again, I'll see to it the Alpha hears about you stepping out on the pack." He said. He opened and slammed the door.

"And just who the hell is slamming doors in MY house?!" The Alpha yelled. I got scared. My heart raced. "Sorry Alpha. Angel here got upset." My dad said. I looked up at him, gaping. Alpha walked up to me. "Slam another door in my house. You will be completely stripped of your rank." He seethed. I nodded and looked down at the sandwiches. He grabbed my hair. "I can't hear you." He said. "Yes, Alpha." I said. He let go and went back upstairs. I looked up at my dad. He smirked and walked away. My eyes welled up with tears. I'm not gonna cry. *whimpers* I bit my lip to keep from crying.

I got done making the sandwiches and set them out for the other wolves. I went ahead to get started cleaning up the rest of the house. Just then, my sister walked in. With her boyfriend, Kevin. "Hey Angel. Gurrrl, let me tell you what happened today." She said. She started telling about her killing a vampire. "'Oh please don't kill me. I have three kids. Oh please spare me.' Bruh that shit was funny." She said, as she laughed with Kevin. "Oh God Angel, you should've been there. It was too funny." He said, as he eyed me up and down. He licked his lips.

I kept my head down, as I sweeped. "Ya know, maybe it wasn't a good idea to kill her, especially if she has kids." I said, quietly. They looked at me. "I mean I know their our enemies, but they got families just like we do." I said. "Angel, they're good for nothing bloodsuckers. They don't deserve families and they don't deserve to live." Kevin said, icily. He took out a cigarette and smoked it inside. Oh no. "Kevin, can you please not? I just sweeped and I just sprayed Febreeze. Plus the Alpha will get mad. You know he doesn't like smoking. His wife has asthma." I said as softly.

He stared at me. "Angel relax. I do this all the time." He said. They sat in the living room and talked. "WHO THE HELL IS SMOKING?!" Boomed the Alpha. "Angel, take the rap for me. Please." Kevin pleaded. I looked around and sighed. I nodded. "It was me Alpha. I'm sorry. I needed something to ease my stress." I said. He ran over and pushed me into the wall. "If I have to hear one more incident about you, you are dead Angel." He yelled at me. I looked down at the ground. He walked out the room. Kevin sent with him. I went over to the kitchen to grab my gloves and wash dishes. My eyes welled up again.

"Angel, you shouldn't have to deal with this." Kyanna said, as she walked over to me. "What choice do I have?" I asked. "All because you became a mermaid and bow everyone has it out for you." She said. "Yes and its my fault. Our pa k is no longer viewed as strong because I went to Mako Island. I was told not to go but I did it anyway. I was curious." I said. "So they demoted you from Gamma to Omega. I heard about it coming back from vacation." She said.

"Kyanna please let me wash these dishes." I said. My voice cracked. She hugged me. I hugged her back and cried. "Its okay Angel. Just let it out." She said. I cried in her shirt. I heard footsteps. I pulled away and continued washing dishes. "Hey Alpha. Kevin wanted to know when we're all going hunting. Its been a while since I last went hunting with the pack." Kyanna said. "Soon Kyanna. Why don't you go help my wife get some things done?" He asked. "Yes Alpha." She said. She gave me one last look before going upstairs on the other side of the house.

I felt heat coming off my back. No. God no. I continued to wash dishes. Alpha moved my hair behind my ear. "H-hi Alpha. I was just, uh, washing dishes. That was my last one." I said, as I briskly made my way to the stairs to go to my room. He caught me around my waist. "Whoa whoa now. Angel, I think its about time we talked. You've been bad. You became a mermaid. Under my guard. That's a bad thing." He said, as he presses himself against me.

He pushed me up against the wall. My eyes welled up again. He turned my head to the side and licked my face. I whimpered. "Oh don't be scared now Angel. You've been flaunting yourself all these years. Teasing me. You knew you exaaaactly what you've been doing this whole time. You've been wanting me to do this for the longest. Ain't that right?" He asked. He put his and around my throat. I choked. "Oh you like that don't ya? Yeah you like it. You've been wanting it. All these years and now you get to have it."

He growled and picked me up. I felt a tear hit my cheek. "Alpha please. I'm sorry. I'll do better. Just please don't do this." I cried. I hoped he let me go. I was wrong. He put his hand down my pants and shoved his finger in me. I yelped in pain. "Oh what's this? A barrier? You've saving yourself for me huh?" He asked, seductively. I shook my head. "Yes you have. Don't cry now Angel. You want this." He said. "No I don't. Please Alpha." I cried. "Oooh yeah do that. Beg for me baby." He said.

Just then we heard his wife. "Philip? Philip baby where are you?" She called. He put me down and walked away. "Yes right here my love." He said, casually. "Oh there you are. I need you to come with me. I need help deciding on the color to paint our room." She said. She opened her mouth to say something else but looked down to see he had a boner. "Oh Philip. Did you miss me?" She asked, seductively. She smiled but it disappeared when she sniffed him. She took a step back and looked at me.

My heart raced. I felt a lump in my throat. "Philip, why is her scent on you?" She asked, slowly. "She jumped me. I tried to tell her no but she wouldn't stop. I love you and only you. I tried to tell her but she wouldn't listen." He said. I gasped. She glared at me. She snapped her fingers. "Outside. Now." She said. I slowly walked outside. Why is this happening to me? She closed the door behind us. We walked to the shed out back. "So first, you disobey us and go to the mermaid territory, now you're pushing up on my husband?" She asked.

I looked behind her to see Alpha eyeing us. He made a certain face that I know to lie. "Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry." I said, looking down at my feet. I felt a sharp pain on my face. She slapped me. "Get to your room and stay there for the rest of the day." She said. "But I have to make dinner for the pack." I said. "I'll have someone else do it." She said then walked off. I walked behind her into the house. I ran upstairs and cried. I cried for what felt like hours. "Angel? Baby?" Called my mama. I sat up.

"Mama..." I reached for her. Her and Kyanna hugged me. "Angel, why did you push up on Alpha?" Kyanna asked. I looked up at her. "You didn't, did you?" She asked. I shook my head. "He...he...he tried to rape me mama." I cried. She hugged me. "Oh my baby girl. Don't worry. Tomorrow we're leaving this pack and going to another." She said. I looked up at her. "What?" I asked. "Baby, I hate to have to say this, but I've been with another wolf in another pack. They're gonna take us in. The man I've been seeing talked to his Alpha and told him about our situation. He's gonna let us in. Tomorrow night, we're leaving. Pack you're stuff baby." She said.

I smiled and hugged her. "Thank you mama." I said. "Bout time. I've been meaning break up with Kevin for the longest. The spark no longer there. Plus Angel, you'll finally learn how to use you're powers and learn things you should've learned years ago." Kyanna said. I smiled. They left. I looked out my window at the night sky. I decided to go for a run. I climbed out my window and landed. I shifted I to my wolf from and ran. I needed this. I ran to a clearing. I heard something. I turned around and saw nothing.

Now I'm black, I know not to go exploring if you hear a loud noise. I ran back to the house and heard running coming towards me. I ran faster. I turned my head to see vampires chasing me. No no nooo. I ran evener faster. "Whoo. We got us one boys." "This gon be good." "Her blood smells fantastic." I heard them say. Faster Angel. Faster. I picked up my pace and saw the house. I saw the line that separates vampires and werewolves. I crossed it. I turned to see them standing, watching me.

They glared at me and ran off. That was a close call. Yeah. If we were with other wolves we probably could've taken them on. And had I went further, I would be dead. I ran to the house and shifted back. I climbed in my window and changed clothes. I climbed into bed and tried to ease my heart. Its all over Angel. They can't hurt you. I told myself. I looked out the window again. As I drifted off to sleep, I thought about my leaving tomorrow.
