Chapter 1 "The Collectors Gallery"

Hi, good morning. Welcome to Ferguson's Collector's Gallery and Jewelry Shop. How may I help you?

Olivine was bombarded with the enthusiasm of Katarina too early in the morning.

“Ma'am, may I? ," she said, accommodating her, including getting her coat.

Olivine was about to head to her office, but she was stopped by the new manager, confused looking at Katarina.

“Ma'am, I'm so sorry, staff only an authorized person to get inside. If you like, come follow me if you are looking for particular jewelry this way and if a collector's item that way. She explains that her smile still never leaves her lips.

“And here's our catalog if you like to check the items. All the details are in there,” she added, looking at Olivine emotionlessly as she complied.

Olivine stared silently, with no complaints except for the part giving Katarina a quizzical look. While holding the catalog, her left dominant hand. She had no idea who's this woman. While waiting, Olivine finally decided to point their head toward the jewelry section. She decided to play along until she discovered or was supposed to pan this awkward situation.

“Best choice, come follow me; we have a few staffs to assist with the measures if you're looking for a ring,” she sweetly smiled.

God, are you kidding me? I am not done grieving. Now I am looking for a ring. Is this a joke? Do I look like searching for a ring? Who is this woman, Ofelia?

Olivine slid her other hand into her trouser's pocket while they were walking. Back of Olivine's head were screaming, heading to the jewelry glass stands. Which is made of glasses and highlighted by small lights to enhance the beauty of other jewelry. Sophistically placed on top of their designated boxes with name tags along. Prices were hidden for those newly arrived. Olivine was given a catalog, and Katarina starts explaining those jewelry collections.

Few moments, a deep sigh from Olivine's part when she's finished. She decided to roam around and placed the catalog on the front counter of other staff, who smirked after Olivine shrugged. Olivine went outside at the Collector's Gallery after Katarina stopped discussing the information about those items. Stopping herself to go inside her office, she decided to go outside.

Instead, she mamanaged the coffee shops across the streets. Finding herself a vacant table, she immediately sat and crossed her legs, sitting under one of the umbrellas provided for the customers in the vicinity.

“Hello, Miss Olivine,” one of the staff noticed her.

“Hello Jeffrey,” she replied, tilting her head.

“I am surprised you stopped by; it's been a while, and I am also deeply sorry for the loss.” He looked down.

“Thank you, Jeffrey.”

“What you decided to come and stay, I've only seen you picking some cup of coffee and doughnuts or cupcakes or a croissant to a pair of our premium coffee every six in the morning. What changes, ma'am? “He said curiously while his brows furrowed, confused.

“I cannot get into my office. ”Olivia said calmly, but deep inside she is slightly irritated by the situation.

“Oh, that's new; why? ”He looked glimpsed across the store.

"Ah, let me guess, trouble with a new staff? ”he chuckled. He looked across the streets again.

“My great-sister Ofelia hired a new staff without consulting me. Or even giving a heads-up, and the best part is she didn't say that I am her sister who works in there.” Olivine shook his head, explaining and smiling, looking across the streets.

“Well, that sounds fun, "he grinned.

“ Ah! Suggestion, Ma"am Olivine, tell your staff that if any important matters, assist your customers here inside. And if they ask, tell them you wanted a new cozy ambiance for a change. However, you can have your regular clients talking over a cup of coffee; how does it sound?”

“That sounds cool, "she replied.

“And wait until she will find out or discover for herself or when your sister will come back. Just enjoy the ride in the meantime,” he said, smiling.

“Are you serious? To me, it sounds like a plan.”

“Yes, I am a dead serious ma'am, Olivine; we're a community here,” he pointed.

“Is this the other way you sell more coffee? ”Olivine shocked her head, smiling at him.

“Right, I needed to do something for my uncle,” he bit his lower lip, expressing he messed up again.

“You did something again? ”She chuckled.

“Sort, I'm sorry I need to go, my uncle; he already waves his hand. We were only allowed to talk for more than five minutes with our customers.” He immediately apologizes for cutting their conversation.

“I wanted to try your idea; here take it; ill give you some tips.” She handed a few bucks to Jeffrey.

“Send some coffee to my staff, and the one on the counter, bring him here. I'll talk to him. I think I need to talk to him,” she smirked.

“Good luck, ma'am, and thanks for the tip,” he raised his hand, holding the ttipplingling with obvious redness on his cheeks.

“You too, good luck! Your uncle loves you,” Olivine said while he was scratching the back of his head and then writing the orders for the delivery.

* * *

A day passed, and Jeffrey's idea worked. Katarina is in a bit of confusion about why the other staff bring their customers to the opposite side of the streets where the cozy coffee shop settled in.

It's seven o'clock before the store will close. A vehicle stopped parking in the customer's parking area. Olivine sees a man inside, being quiet and observing where she sits. From the wall glasses of the coffee shop, witnessing the man come out when Katarina is at the gallery door.

Is she married?

Jeffrey interrupts her, covering his mouth, seeing the couple and the two kids running toward Katarina. Picking her phone and speed dialing her sister Ofelia, but all she reached was voice mail.

Jeffrey shrugged afterward and walked away after witnessing the family moment; they had both seen enough. Olivine decided to go outside the coffee shop, simply passing by where the family's car parked.

Katarina noticed her, but Olivine only lowered her head, passing through and walking towards her vehicle. Shutting the door slowly as every regular customer does. A deep sigh on Olivine's part came.

She is married, and my sister cannot be reached. Ofelia, this is not a good time to torture me like this.

Closing her eyes, enclosing her face, and both of her hands whilst sitting on the driver's seat.
