Summary

This is a review of the series. This is a beautiful series set in 18th and 19th century England and France. Ms Boyle is an amazing storyteller who transports us to times of great intrigue and danger while our heroes and heroines try to stay alive while falling hopelessly in love with each other. 😍 I will be writing about the characters and certain scenes that I liked and touched me. You have been warned, there will be spoilers. Also, you can share AND spoil what you liked about this series in the comment section. Introducing the series

The Brazen Series is probably one of the first books or series Ms Elizabeth Boyle started. It tells the story of three of the four children of Comte and Comtesse D’Artiers, a French aristocratic family stranded in France during the French Revolution.

The first to be introduced to us is Sophia D’Artiers, who carries a pain all her own. But this does not stop her from trying to be cheerful. Against terrible odds, she is determined to bring all her family to safety. Emma and Oliver, her most trusted companions, are with her every step of the way. Standing beside her is the man she has fallen in love with, Giles Corliss, Marquess of Trahern.

Next is Lily D’Artiers. At the young age of 13, she has already experienced the trauma of being away from her family. Away from everyone she trusts and with a great possibility of never seeing them again. Now rescued and changed for life, she has become England’s best bet against Napoleon. Not that she wants to have anything to do with Webb. “No, she certainly wants nothing to do with him.”

The last one is Julien, the youngest of the lot. We saw him as a little boy wanting to become a farmer. An accomplished businessman, he decides to use every trick he has learned to win his wife’s heart again.

Ms Boyle leaves us with the lasting impression of love, sacrifice, surrender and triumph. After all, “Nothing is difficult to one who loves.”

Come on the journey with me as we read these books, discuss them and express how we feel about these characters’ rollercoaster rides.

Ku_Rolet: I love the story and the love between the couple. It doesn’t drag unnecessarily, which I really enjoyed. However, I felt that the ending was a bit rushed because Silver being a druid was revealed so suddenly, without much explanation. That part of the story still feels like a mystery, especially how...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
