Chapter 1
It was a dry, eerie day as usual. Light looked at a window, lost in deep thought, as usual. He was at school, waiting for the class to end. "Light?" The professor asked. 'Yes, sir" Light politely replied.
"Please answer the question written on the board" He instructed. Light nodded and went to the board with no hesitation and solved the question in no Time. It really wasn't a big deal for him. He was Light Yagami, after all. The topper of his class, perhaps even the best student in all of Japan. "Well done Light, as always" The Professor said.
Just then, the school bell rang. The high-schoolers began packing up their bags, chatting excitedly. The Professor sighed and dispersed them. Light and the other students rushed outside to finally go home.
Light was slower than all of them, had a blank expression on his face and preferred to stay away from all the gossip crowds. Just then, he heard a voice "Light! Light-kun!" "God, not again" He sighed. Someone hugged from behind, suddenly.
"Uh, hi?" Light greeted. It was Misa-Misa, a famous young model who had some kind of obsession for Light. Light, on the other hand, didn't care the slightest bit. He was popular amongst everyone but he didn't care too much. "Can we hang out today? Pleeaaase?" She asked with a puppy face. "Not, today, I have some studying to do, maybe later, Misa-Misa" He said and walked off, leaving her alone. "Oh, okay! See you tomorrow, Light!" she shouted and waved. He shot a small wave at her and left.
The streets were deserted in Light's view, although there were many students chatting and heading home. Light's life seemed great, he was a topper, popular amongst everyone, smart, had his career to be in the police set, everything was perfect. Right?
No. Life was boring for him. Nothing exciting or cheerful, everyday was uneventful and sort of "perfect". These were the thoughts of Light on life.
He kicked a can on the road out of frustration.
"Life is boring"
Just then, he heard some wierd noise. As if someone sneezed. Light slightly shuddered, as he realized someone had been following him this whole time. "I can't run, it's not the best choice, I'll get caught if they're stalking me" he thought. He took a deep breath and kept walking, keeping calm. "That's right, crowds. I've to go to a fake address with lots of people crowded. But is it....worth it. I might be wrong. No, they're following me, surely. I can hear the silent footsteps" Light walked to the nearest mall in his normal pace, so that he wouldn't turn the stalker suspicious of him noticing their presence.
Light was right, the mall was heavily crowded. He could lose the stalker easily. He merged into the crowd perfectly. He walked around a little bit, went up and down the elevator, and finally left.
He was relieved now, he could no long hear or sense the stalker's presence and took a bus to his home.
"Mom, I'm home" He said as he entered his house.
His mom greeted him and asked "How was school today? Also didn't you have that test? How much did you score?"
"Oh, here's the answer sheet" he said. handing out a paper to her.
"100/100 again? Well done?! Light, I'm so proud of you, you studied hard, didn't you?"
"Thanks. I'm going to my room." he said and went upstairs.
Light spent rest of the time studying, resting, dreaming etc. It was his usual, day, except for the stalker. He kept thinking about the guy and what was he looking for.
After dinner and a little bit of studying, he dashed onto his bed, tired. In no time, his eyes started drifting to sleep.
SUDDENLY! MULTIPLE HANDS GRABBED HIS BODY AND MASKED HIM! Light tried to escape using his strength but failed miserably. He called for help but his mouth was covered, this was all too sudden. He tried kicking and biting, but he was too tired and weak for them. He was losing consciousness now. The last thing he saw was a man with a mask and the shape circle on it.
He blacked out.
