Chapter 1: Starry Night
Jimin paced back and forth along the dark sidewalk, the moon shining dimly through the clouds.
"Ugh, where is he?" Suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder. Jimin whipped around and exclaimed,
"Tae Tae!" Taehyung hugged his friend, happy to see him.
"Sorry I'm late," He said after letting go of Jimin, "My parents stayed up so late, and I had to wait until they went to sleep to sneak out." Jimin looked confused.
"Why couldn't you have just used the window?" He asked. Taehyung sighed.
"My parents have the ears of bats. There's no way I could escape through my window without them hearing." Jimin started walking off, nodding. "So, Jimin-ah, why did you call me here at 2:43 AM? Especially here. Why here?" He trotted over to the shop Jimin stood in front of. Jimin looked up and pointed.
"We're going to climb on the roof." He replied nonchalantly. Taehyung looked at him like he was insane.
"What?! Why?!" Jimin spun around and shushed him.
"Just because the streets are empty doesn't mean the houses are, too. Anyway, look!" He pointed up. Taehyung looked towards the sky to see the Milky Way. His mouth hung wide open while Jimin climbed the downspout on the side of the building. Snapping into realization, Tae sprinted to the downspout and climbed up after him.
"Jimin-ah! Wait up!"
They sat peacefully on the roof of the shop, looking towards the sky in silence. Taehyung took out his phone and put on some relaxing music. Jimin closed his eyes and tapped his finger to the rhythm. All was calm. Suddenly, Jimin woke up and rubbed his eyes. The sun was rising, and Taehyung was fast asleep, hugging Jimin's waist tightly. Jimin felt his heart pounding. He had never been this close to Taehyung before. Jimin checked his watch, then shook Taehyung awake.
"Taehyung! Wake up! It's 5:30 AM!" He woke up immediately, but that didn't mean he felt wide awake. Tae stretched his arms out, yawning. Then he settled back into his original position. Jimin felt flustered.
"Just a few more minutes, Jimin-ah." Taehyung groaned.
"Tae, it's 5:30 AM." His head jerked up.
"We got to go." They both sat up and began the climb down.
