Summary

Dr. Chelsie Peebles discovers she has a stage four glioblastoma. Her doctors have given her less than four months to live. It just so happens that Chelsie is an OB/GYN for a vampire clinic in New Orleans, the V-clinic. One day, she reads an article in a vampire medical journal about a vampire doctor curing cancer in humans by turning them into vampires. Chelsie is certain she has found her miracle cure. Chelsie has passion for singing, and moonlights with a band, Twisted Dixie. One night when Chelsie is preforming at a local hotspot, her partner, Dr. Asa Bradley shows up. Chelsie has been crushing on that gorgeous vampire for nearly a year, but she firmly believes she’s invisible to Asa, because she’s overweight and sports glasses as thick as a bulletproof shield. But lo and behold, Asa notices her that night and makes it clear he finds Chelsie irresistible. Unfortunately, Chad Raker, lead male vocalist for Twisted Dixie, and Chelsie’s ex, isn’t too happy about Asa and Chelsie’s love affair. He threatens to kill Asa’s patients unless he breaks up with Chelsie. Chelsie and Asa’s story is deeply emotional, more so than the average romance, because it deals with a woman’s personal battle with cancer. It’s heart-wrenching at times, but Chelsie’s courage, and Asa’s unwavering love will leave you remembering their tale long after you’ve read the last page.

Life’s a Miracle

Chelsie is certain she has found her miracle. Now all she has to do is schedule the procedure and she can get on with her life.

Chelsie is wholly dedicated to her practice, but she also has passion for singing, and moonlights with a band, Twisted Dixie. On the band’s debut night at a local hotspot, Cajun Refugees, her partner, Dr. Asa Bradley shows up. Chelsie has been crushing on that gorgeous vampire for nearly a year, but she firmly believes she’s invisible to Asa. After all, she’s overweight and sports glasses as thick as a bulletproof shield. But lo and behold, Asa notices her that night. From that point on she and Asa are inseparable, because Asa realizes Chelsie is his life mate.

Unfortunately, Chad Raker, lead male vocalist for Twisted Dixie, and Chelsie’s ex, has delusional notions about Chelsie still being his girlfriend, and he threatens to kill Asa if he doesn’t leave Chelsie alone. Asa blows him off until Chad tells Asa he’s discovered he’s a vampire and his patients are going to start dying unless he breaks up with Chelsie. Chad actually does kill one of Asa’s patients. Chelsie’s sister, Dannie, goes missing. To make matters worse, Chelsie begins to exhibit end of life symptoms, which means she most likely won’t survive the turning procedure.

Chelsie and Asa’s story is a deeply emotional romance, because it deals with a woman’s personal battle with cancer. You’ll get to walk with Chelsie through her stages of the grieving process, see how she copes, and sometimes how she fails to cope. You may find this love tale heart-wrenching at times, but Chelsie’s courage, and Asa’s unwavering love will leave you remembering them long after you’ve read the last page. So enjoy Life’s a Miracle.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
