Deceptive

Another day goes by, I’ve been feeling uneasy the past few days and I have no idea why.

I’ve been feeling nauseous, my head has been hurting and I’ve been getting sick. ‘Hm, it could be just a simple cold... I should ask Yasmin..’ I think as I walk towards the end table by my bed and grab my phone. I dial Yasmin’s number and wait while it rings.

A few seconds later I hear a voice on the other side of my phone. “Lillian? What’re you doing?” Yasmin asks.

“Nothing much, I was just wondering if I could ask you a question?” I reply.

“Yeah, sure, what is it?” Yasmin asks.

“I’ve been feeling sick lately, like I’ve been nauseous, having headaches and puking every time I wake up,” I tell her.

“Hm, I’m not sure, but you could maybe take a pregnancy test? That’s kind of what it sounds like but it could be anything so don’t worry too much, would you like Charlotte and I to come over?” she asks.

“Yeah, you both can come over I’m going to the store to get a pregnancy test so I might not be here when you arrive,” I say.

“Ok, we’ll see you in a bit then Lillian,” Yasmin says.

“Ok, bye,” I say and hang up. I go down to the first floor of my mansion and head towards the door, I grab my car keys and head outside towards my dark purple Lamborghini

I get in and put on my favorite song, ‘Wait For You’, By Elliot Yamin.

I pull out of the parking lot and drive towards the store down the road.

As I arrive I turn my car off and get out, I walk into the store and look around for pregnancy tests. I grab three pregnancy tests and take them to the counter, as the cashier is scanning them, I get out my money and get ready to pay.

“That will be $2.99, ma’am.” I hear him say.

I give him $3.00 and say, “Keep the change.” As I grab the bag and walk back out to my car.

I put the key into the ignition and start my car, I put music on and head towards my house.

As I near, I notice a Jeep and a Bugatti are sitting in my driveway. I turn my car off and get out, as I head towards the door, it suddenly opens revealing my sister, Charlotte, and Yasmin.

“Hey, you’re back.” Charlotte states.

Before I have a chance to answer Yasmin blurts out, “Hurry up, go take the tests!”

“Jeez, calm down Yasmin.” I hear Charlotte say as I walk towards the bathroom laughing.

After I get done taking the test I turn it over and walk out the door while I wait for the result of the pregnancy test.

“So, are you preggo Lillian??” Yasmin asks.

“I have no idea yet, we have to wait a few minutes,” I reply.

“Are you ok?” Charlotte asks.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I say.

A few minutes later I shakily grab the pregnancy test from the counter.

“It’s ok, we’re here for you Lilly,” Charlotte says.

I nod shakily and turn over the pregnancy test.
