The Start
Life should be accessible as a kid, a bit troublesome as a teen, then marvelous as a free adult. Thatβs what she thought. Life shouldnβt be hard. A kid shouldnβt know what pain is besides a scab here and there.
But no. What Lenora went through is hell. She knew things, been through a lot a kid shouldnβt even know or go through. She learned how some dads could be abusive, not loving. She realized that some moms donβt know how to parent. She learned life isnβt easygoing.
She was left alone for most of her life. Even though Lenora had a mom and dad, she was truly and utterly alone. So she had to raise herself, teach herself how to get changed. How to eat. How to live.
Lenora Schmidt, age 16, just learned how to be emotional.
How to make friends.
But it all took years to learn all of that.
This is Lenora Schmidt, and this is her story.
