“Éile!
Make your way down to the kitchen your breakfast is getting cold!” Mom screams from down the stairs.
Aggg… I rub my sleepy eyes so hard it might just pop out of its sockets.
“Coming!” I scream from my room. I drag myself up and sit on the side of my bed while my feet lazily searches for my flip flops.
As I walk down stairs I hear my mom start to sing “happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday my princess happy birthday to you” my dad walks up with a cake and 18 candles “make a wish princess" he says.
I Close my eyes and make my silent wish, “I wish for my mate to be kind and loving when we find each other".
I blow out all the candles and put a finger into the caramel frosting. Mmmmm.. sooo good “thank you Lauren" I say to our Omega.
My dad puts down the cake and wraps his arm around my moms waist. “May the Moon Goddes bless you on your journey further princess” my mom says handing me a small box.
I open the gift and in it is a dainty silver necklace with a moon pendant on. “ Oh mom it’s perfect, I love it" my mom takes the necklace and I hold up my hair, while she ties the necklace around my neck. “ I love you guys so much" I say opening my arms wide, hugging them both.
We Sit down at the kitchen table and start eating our breakfast. “ So are you excited to meet your mate tonight” mom asks cutting into her pancake “ ehhh.. at the moment I'm not really looking for a mate, I’m really looking forward to start my studies at the University of Craven” . Botany has always been my life long dream , I love the nature and plants its so fascinating to me. I don’t know if it's because I am a wolf and it’s part of my nature to love what the moon Goddess has given to us or just because it’s a really strong interest. All I know is that I cant wait to learn more about the life that grows on this earth.
“Princess it’s every werewolf’s dream to find their mate, aren’t you just a little curious of what the goddess has in store for you?” My dad asks.
"I mean yeah ofcoz I’m curious dad, but it’s just not all I want for myself right now.” I answer a little irritated. I do want a mate ofcoz I do but as the Alpha's daughter it’s expected of me to put being a werewolf first, always. I just don’t want to set my dreams aside to be a good mate and mother at this age, I want more for myself. I don’t want a mate bond to be the only passion I have to offer this world. Looking at my mom and dad I can see the unconditional love and support a mate bond has to offer, I do want that. But I also want to be able to love myself enough to pursue my dreams.
“We understand my love and we support you. Are you looking forward to your party tonight. I bet that is something you excited about" mom says picking up her plate and walking towards Lauren and hand her the plate. “Oh man, I am so excited, I got the cutest dress ma (my glamma aka grandmother) helped me pick out.” I told my mom.
“Thanks for the amazing breakfast Lauren” I yelled standing up from the table. “okay I'm going for a jog to Cayden's” I say kissing my dad and mom on the cheek. I walk upstairs to my room , as I open my door to find Hayden, Cayden's twin brother on my bed. I yelped not expected to see him there.
He looks up at me and pushes his black hair back showing his amazing hazel eyes. “fuck Hayden do you want to give me a heart attack. What are you doing in my room?” I say closing my room door behind me and walk to my closet.
“ Happy birthday princess" is all he says with his husky supper sexy voice. I swear when he opens his mouth I want to tongue him.
“Thanks” is all I said, standing with my back towards him scratching in my drawer. I hear him standing up from my bed and walking over to me, I feel him towering over me. Mind you I am not short at all I am 6.3 this man is just tall as hell. I turn around to find him with a potted plant in his hand.
“ a princess of the night for our princess" he looks at me straight in my eyes never breaking eye contact. This is how I die folks! I look down at the plant, holy shit! I’ve been wanting this flower for ages. It only blooms at night and It is insanely rare.
I take the potted plant from him “holy shit Hayden this is perfect, you didn’t have to". He keeps on looking at my face with a puzzled expression, he chews on his bottom lip. What is this guy thinking, I never know.
“ hate to see you go princess". Like I said guys this is how I die.
“ Hayden you do realise that I am actually only leaving for campus next year, I'll still be around for 5 month to irritate you guys.”
I see pain flash in his eyes “You know what I mean Éile” he says turning to walk to my window, “Hayden wait” he turns around to look at me.
“ I'm walking with you I was actually on my way to get ready to come over to you and Cayden” he turns and continues walking to the window “ I'm not on my way home from here Éil, see you tonight.”
Fuckkk… that guy, why must he be so mysterious and perfect and just so frustrating!
