Chapter 1
Raya stood in front of the twenty-three-story building firmly. The tall white girl looked up at the building in front of his from the bottom floor to the top floor. The girl with shoulder-length hair tied into a ponytail with a red hair band has beautiful eyes. His eyelashes are thick and eyebrows are neatly arranged.
Raya looked exhausted with sweat dripping from her forehead. Every now and then she wiped the sweat off his forehead with the shoulder of his right hand. She watched the apartment closely. From the bottom floor to the top floor, until his eyes narrowed. The twenty-first-story building looks sturdy with a fairly elegant shape as an apartment. The building looks magnificent. Mama just bought it a few weeks ago for a cheap price. It is said that the apartment was abandoned by the owner a year ago.
Raya sighed heavily with an annoyed groan. She really didn't want to live in the Apartment. She prefers to live in ordinary housing.
Raya and mama's life changed one hundred and eighty degrees when papa remarried to another woman. This shocked my mother and asked Papa for a divorce. Everything went awry and Raya looked for work to earn extra money for his needs. Raya was accepted at a tv station as a Creative Team.
Raya stepped lazily. He carried a box containing her room equipment with difficulty. She noticed the empty-looking hallways throughout the apartment. Maybe the owners are doing activities outside the home. Raya pressed the elevator button and waited, transfixed. After the elevator door opened, Raya just walked in with an annoyed face. Mama had already put the goods into the apartment through the transportation service.
After reaching the 14A floor, Raya walked towards her apartment numbered 103. Again she felt silence in the corridor. The apartment was very quiet. Raya opened the apartment door and there was already mom busy cleaning the floor and arranging all the furniture. Chairs, decorative tables and cabinets and some paintings and some lamps. Raya is a little sorry why they moved into an apartment instead of a normal house.
“Mom… Why did we move here anyway…?” ask Raya didn't accept it as he put the box on the chair. "Raya doesn't want to live in an apartment, Mom..."
Mama saw her daughter's tired face. Actually, Mom is also very tired of looking for a house, but it's not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Some time ago, my mother received an offer for the apartment at a low price and my mother immediately bought it. Mama got the money from papa and some of mama's savings in the bank.
“Ray … Our house has been confiscated by the bank. Your papa also only gave enough money to mama. You accept it. This apartment is for sale cheap. Buying a house in Jakarta is expensive and difficult, Raya ...”
Raya sighed in exasperation. Then he went into his room and put the box on the bed just like that. She looked carefully at his three-by-four room. The wall paint looks dark. Looks like he should repaint the walls or replace them with wallpaper. The five foot bed was neatly arranged by my mother. It's just that the bed was not a springbed, but a bed with iron legs. There is a wardrobe and a small table.
Raya looked up at the ceiling, which was also gloomy. There are black spots, I don't know what. Raya noticed the spot was getting wider. She frowned as he continued to pay attention to the abstract shaped spots. The spots were lifelike and formed strange shadows. Raya blinked her eyes and got out of bed. For a moment he looked at the ceiling of his room and he was surprised. The spot is gone. She rubbed his eyes a few times, but still nothing.
"Just an illusion." She thought.
Ray exhaled heavily. She walked to the glass window, then stood in the corner watching the city of Jakarta. The sunset looks orange. The clouds refract the colors of the bricks.
There is sadness in Raya's heart. After the divorce of papa and mama, Raya prefers to live with her mother. She didn't want to see his mother sad or hurt.
"Raya... help mama..." said mama from behind the door.
Raya gasped and turned to mama. Mom's face looks tired. The lines of wrinkles on her face began to show clearly.
"Yeah, Mom… Just a minute. Raya tidies up the room first." Raya replied with a faint smile.
"Hurry up."
Raya nodded then opened the box and took his things. She arranged some of his favorite dolls in an empty cupboard. Books and some wall hangings.
Suddenly the basketball bounced out of nowhere. Raya gasped and saw the ball that bounced kicking the wardrobe door. Raya watched the ball closely and then went to pick it up. She wondered why there was a basketball in his room.
Raya put the ball on the table and took out her things again. The closet door opened slowly and inside could be seen the figure of a pale-faced boy with black eyes. Raya did not know the existence of the figure and was busy tidying her room.
After the room was tidy, Raya came out and helped mom clean the living room and others. She arranged small jars, flower vases and some other decorations.
Finished arranging the furniture and tidying everything up, Raya picked up the things that were no longer used. She put the things in the box and then out of the apartment. She wants to throw away things that are no longer used.
BRUUUKK…
As soon as he got out, suddenly the box he was holding fell when someone bumped into him by accident. The used goods in the box were scattered on the corridor floor.
“Oops … Sorry … I didn't mean to.” Said the person while picking up the fallen items. Raya also put the items in the box.
"So if you go and have a look!" His nagging.
"Sorry, I really didn't mean to. You're new, aren't you?” Ask the man kindly.
"It is none of your business. What if it's a new kid?" Raya's tone was still unfriendly.
“Hmm… It's fine.” The boy smiled.
"We just came in." Raya answered arbitrarily. Raya glanced at the man. A white and handsome boy. Her face looked a little pale, but it was covered by a charming smile.
"You live here?" asked Raya then.
"Yes. I'm upstairs."
