across the room [shitfic/joke]

It was near the beginning of August and the first day of sixth grade. Christian was paired in a table far away from Cooper but after a few weeks of school, he knew he had fallen for them.

Christian started talking to his friend Elias about his feelings though Elias had a massive crush on him, he tried to hide his tears while Christian talked about how he had fallen in a deep pit of butterflies whenever he walked past them. Elias knew to be a supportive friend he would have to hide his feelings and support Christian no matter what.

Two weeks pass and Christian has fallen into a deeper pit of love for this person. He knew he had to tell him soon but they have never talked so he thought it would be weird for them.. He soon had an idea! He would try to talk to them for a while and to make it less awkward if he ever did end up confessing.

A week had passed of him debating if he should go talk to them, after working up some courage he finally did.

During recess Christian tapped Cooper on the shoulder “Hi Cooper, do you want to be friends owo?”

“Umm why are you just suddenly just talking to today, is this some kind of joke-?” replied Cooper.

“I don’t know, I just wanted to be friends with you. I thought you were cool..” Christian said knowing the tiny lie he just told.

“Okay I guess” they replied in a weirded-out voice.

“So, what do you want to do..?” Christian asked in a desperate voice.

“Hmmm… I don’t know.”

They both stood there awkwardly then the supervisors blew their whistle signaling that the break time they had was over.

They both ran over to their other friends out of awkwardness. “Well, that was a shitshow..” Christian thought.

When they got back to class they both sat awkwardly staring at each other. Cooper in disappointment and Christian of awe. This happened for a few months but they both started to fall for each other.

One day in October, Christian decided to confess his love. He told Cooper to meet him under the sibling tree in class earlier that day.

When it was recess, Christian was anxious to confess but he built up the courage. “Hi Cooper, I have to tell you something important..” He said with a blushing face.

“Yeah what is it..?” They asked, thinking if he was going to say what they thought he would.

With a blushing face and Elias standing near watching the entire thing, he finally said it, “Cooper, I’ve liked you for a long time and I get it if you don’t feel the same way but-”

Cooper interrupted, “I like you too.. I’ve liked you for a few months now..”

Christian stood there blushing in shock. “Hey, meet me in the bathroom at lunch recess.”

Cooper stood there confused but did what he said.

“God class is taking forever.” Christian thought to himself. The exact moment he thought that the teacher announced to the class that it was time for lunch.

Christian sprinted out of his chair and lined up and told no one his plans of what would happen in the bathrooms.

For Christian, lunch felt like hours to end. Finally, the supervisors started letting people out to recess.

Christian walked to the boys bathroom on top of the hill where it was harder to see inside. A few minutes later Cooper walked in, Christian was right near the door, he pulled Cooper into a stall and started kissing them. Cooper tried to pull away but was mesmerized by Christian’s wonderful kissing skills. Cooper knew it wasn’t right and pulled away, “I can’t do this today I’m sorry..” said Cooper. Christian sat there in regret and terror he ruined everything.

Days later, Cooper went to talk to Christian about what happened outside of the school gates. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t ready for this. It just happened so quickly.. I didn’t know what I was doing.” said Cooper. Christian understood and shook his head that he knew what happened and in forgiveness. Cooper leaned into Christian’s chest and they shared a magical kiss, though everyone was watching they didn’t care because they were so in love, nothing mattered to them.
