Prologue

I waited and hoped. I was sitting at my house on a Sunday morning not doing a thing. While my friends were out playing in fields I was at home. However I was not like normal boys. They enjoyed sports and wrestling. I did not find sports interesting. I had a friend who didn't like sports or wrestling and he wasn't like me however. He acted just like the other boys and the only different thing was that he didn't like physical activities.

My difference was that I was gay. According to my friends they could tell that I was gay. They saw it in the way I had acted. I appreciated that they kept it secret within their friends. I did indeed like a guy who we assumed was straight. I couldn't think about this right now. I had to focus on school.

In our class we had to do a project with a partner. It was a generally easy project as long as you have a good partner. I didn't know who I wanted my partner to be. Maybe I would go with Alicia. She was my closest friend. She was also the first person to know about my secret.

For me being an eighth grader it was hard to go through the locker rooms without any problems. I would try to avoid any eye contact with anyone when I was in there. I had luckily so far not been bullied. I would be lucky to get through eighth grade without any problems. Outside my house the sun was shining and the sky was a light blue. The green trees were everywhere outside.

Downstairs my brother was listening to loud music. My parents were not home very often so he took care of me. He was in 11th grade. He also knew about my secret. He partially had the same problem. He liked boys and girls. He told me some secrets about how to survive with liking the same gender. He had been a major help for me.

I walked downstairs to see that my brother was lying down on the couch with his mouth open. I walked over to the mirror in the living room. I tried to smooth out my black hair. It popped back up the moment I smoothed it out. I grabbed some gel for my hair and I spiked it up. I walked outside into the warm summer air. I could smell the fresh bread from the bakery just up the street. I walked in silence until I got to the bakery.

Inside the bakery there was a whole bunch of freshly made bread. The different thing about this bakery was that they would make the bread into little towns and you could eat buildings like you were a giant. I grabbed a piece of bread and purchased it. I stood outside in the air and slowly ate the bread.

Taking each bite slowly. I hoped that my wish would come true. Actually I knew that my wish would come true.
