Chapter 1
Public school, something Noah had never experienced. He was always in private schools thanks to his family’s wealthiness but he wanted to go to public school for a single reason. He was transgender, he was bullied for it ever since he came out because ‘rich people didn’t have problems’ or ‘trans people don’t fit in private schools’. His parents thought that in a public school maybe people would be more open minded, especially with the amount of werewolves.
Werewolves were banned from private school unless it was a school of only their kind. Noah’s parents were hesitant but werewolves..were of no danger. The only one that were dangerous was the Ultra Wolf, that could turn human into wolves if not controlled. They were extremely rare though, one of a kind. They sent him either way, hoping for the best and hoping he would be happy finally. Someone would finally accept Noah for who he was.
It was his first day, entering the school being curious of the new experience. The school was huge, maybe bigger than the other ones he’s been to. His classroom was just 306 which he was trying to find. He thankfully did and entered seeing the class almost full. Half of the class were..werewolves. Noah was shocked, he had never seen them in person so closely before. Yes, there around the town but he never got to talk to them.
Then he saw a girl in the corner, she was wearing mostly pink which fit with her darker skin and dark brown hair. She also wore a pink bucket hat, if he was being honest, she was quite adorable especially with her fashion. He sat next to her and shyly waved. “Oh..hi! Are you new here? I’ve never seen you in this class” she said in a quiet tone. She seemed to be very shy even with her colorful clothes.
“Oh yeah, my name is Noah, and you are..?”
“I’m Alphina! It’s nice to meet you Noah. You have really nice hair huh? Like gold silk” Alphina chuckled finding his slightly long blonde hair beautiful to look at.
“Heh, I guess you could say that although I’ve never heard it described like that” He laughed, blushing a bit at the compliment.
“Ha! I guess it’s a weird way of describing it” she smiled, resting her head on her hand. Noah noticed her aquamarine hair that made her look amazing. The pink with her hair was a strangely cute combination.
“Your hair..did you dye it yourself? It looks really nice” he complimented.
“Oh! Well I was kinda born with it. I know it’s strange but it’s become more common huh?” Alphina said then looked straight ahead seeing the teacher walk in. The whole class also paid attention.
Noah had enjoyed the class and the students seemed quite interactive with each other. Now it was lunch..he had to sit with someone but luckily Alphina called him over to sit with her and..some friends. He sat down nervously waving at the two people sitting there. “This is Noah! He’s new to our class KC!” She said to a werewolf with dark short hair and a yellow and blue hoodie.
“Oh! Hiii, I’m Jonah but call me KC “ he said grinning which showed his little werewolf teeth.
“Hello, I’m Cody. Im a bit older than you guys so you won’t see me in your class. Im always around though” The dark haired person next to KC said. They seemed a bit serious which was the opposite of the other two.
“KC and Cody are two of my closest friends, but how old are you Noah? Im 15, KC is 16 and Cody is 17” Alphina asked.
“Oh I’m 16 too-“ Noah muttered chuckling.
“Oh so I’m the youngest still..hmph” she crossed her arms. They got to know each other. The blonde boy looked at everyone at the table. They all were so..unique and different. He felt so comfortable and welcomed. Although, he hasn’t told anyone he was trans. He planned on telling only when he trusted them truly.
After school, Noah waited at the entrance for his ride to get there. His parents wanted to pick him up to make sure school went well so they would be just a bit late from work. Alphina spotted him waiting and smiled at him. “Waiting for a ride? Luckyyyy, I have to walk home. Thankfully it isn’t far away but it’s tiring for sure” she whined.
“Hey, how about you catch a ride with me? It’s not far right? I’m sure my mom won’t mind” Noah asked her nicely.
“You don’t have to do that! But I would like that..oh yeah by the way! I’d like to be friends so why don’t you give me your Instagram?” She asked pulling her phone out which was all cracked. She had notable long nails that were painted white. He gave his Instagram before his mom arrived, Noah immediately asked if they could give Alphina a ride and his mother had approved.
“Well, I’m guessing class went well with your new friend. Your name is Alphina? That’s a very unique name, powerful even. I’m so glad my son already has some friends” she said, looking back.
“Oh yeah! He sat next to me and we just started talking. He’s extremely nice, I’m sure we can start to hangout sometime! Oh my house is right here, thank you for the ride” Alphina hopped out the car to go to a small house in the distance. Finally, Noah’s mother was going to ask about school.
“What a pretty girl, she seems sweet, doesn’t she?” She smiled looking at Noah who was staring at Alphina disappear into the distance.
“Yeah, she was very..welcoming. I also met her friends. Cody and KC, Cody is non-binary so that was..comforting. I didn’t feel out of place. Oh and KC is also trans !” Noah smiled, he never seemed so happy to go to school before.
“Heh, I’m so happy for you Noah. I’m glad you’re liking it, there’s a lot of werewolves I heard”
“Yeah KC is a werewolf but they seem very energetic and very fun to be around. I actually didn’t feel scared at all. I think I’ll like it here..”
His mom looked at him with a huge smile on her face before ruffling his hair. “Ah, you’re so cute, how do you have a crush on that Alphina girl already?”
