Honoring Trenton
Jo's POV
Today is a big day for Sogini Recordi, we are having our first performance with our dancers. I am nervous a little but it is more of I hope I am doing Trenton's dreams justice. You see I started this bar in honor of him. We have been open for one year now and I decided to turn it into more of a coyote ugly style like he wanted from the start. I decided the one year anniversary of opening is the perfect day.
As I go downstairs to get some breakfast to get to the bar early today I run into Travis, which is a 25 year old which I moved him into my house about a year ago. He was on the streets and was on drugs. I helped him get off the drugs and moved him in permanently. He really helps me stay sane. Once he got sober I gave him a job as a bartender under the stipulation, he has to take a drug test every week and stay sober. He hasn't had a problem so far, I am extremely proud of how far he has come.
"Good Morning" I tell him and ask what he is cooking
He replies" Eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with coffee. I made enough for both of us"
I tell him "thanks" and kiss him on the cheek
I grab our coffee cups as he plates the food. As we sit at the bar he asks me
"How are you feeling about today"
"I am good, exicted, nervous, but hopeful the change in the bar and in my life"
He says" Good. I know you ladies are going to be amazing"
"Thank you Travis" I reply.
"Also thanks for breakfast, I'll see you at 6 right?"
He says" yes"
"Great. See you later"
I arrive at the bar at 4pm. I head to my office and do all the paperwork, I left for the last few weeks. I finish about 5:30 pm. I then go downstairs and turn on my cleaning/dancing Playlist. As No Diginity plays I straighten up the VIP rooms. When the next song starts Touch It, I am wiping the tables and bar down. However, when I realize what I am really doing is dancing. I start to grind on each bar stool going from top to bottom. I am feeling so happy and free until Mo yells
"Mom stop, everyone is staring"
I turn around and see Travis' mouth open, Elle smiling, Mel smiling, Mia smiling and Danny shaking his head 'no'.
I say "Sorry guys, I didn't know anyone was here"
Elle then says "Can you teach us how to dance like that?" Mel agrees with Elle and says "I would love those moves" and they laugh together.
Mo says "No. We are sticking to our normal line dances."
Danny runs upstairs and turns off the music. I look at the girls and say "Mo is right, no one was supposed to see those moves. I was just letting my body do whatever"
I then hear Travis say" I like the way your body wants to move"
I turn to him and say" What did you say?"
"Nothing. I need to get to the bar to set up" Travis replies
The girls head to the change room to get into their uniforms and I follow them. Our uniforms are a black and red corset with a black and red plaid with a black and chain belt. For tonight's shoes we are wearing combat boots
We all do our makeup different, I decided on just eye liner, mascara and chapstick. However, we all wear our hair down. Once we are ready. I say "Let's open up" and head to the front door and unlock
