I look down at my phone and see the picture of Josh and I smiling as we hold each other. I can't help but tear up remembering the good times we shared before he cheated on me. I quickly change my phones wallpaper to a random flower and threw my phone across my bedroom. Laying down on my bed I let out a loud sigh and decided I wasn't going to continue wallowing in my own self pity. I jumped from my bed and texted my best friend.
Sam: Hey Jas, Do you think I can come over and we can talk. I don't want to be alone right now.
Jasmine: Of course, hope you don't mind if Darren is here. His plans fell threw and decided to stay home. XOXO
Sam: That's fine, see you in 20 mins!
With that I clicked my phone off and started to get ready, knowing that Darren is there makes me double take what I am going to wear. Although Darren is Jasmine's brother, he is so incredibly attractive and I don't particularly want to look like a slob.
I finally decided to wear a flowing yellow sun dress that shows off my golden skin and dips just low enough for a good amount of cleavage to be showing. I bit my look looking in the mirror and I think about getting a reaction out of Darren. He never thinks much of me and always acts so cold towards me. I smile at myself feeling proud as I head over to their house.
I rang the doorbell, biting my lip hoping it was Jasmine that answered the door. I want to be prepared when I see Darren. I pull my druss to make sure that it is fitting against my body the way I wanted. As the door opened I could feel the breathe in my lungs disappear and Made me take a large breathe.
Darren is standing in front of my in the doorway without a shirt on, I start to scan down his body when I can see he is wearing sweatpants that definitely don't hide his.. I snapped out of my trance when I looked up quickly making sure that he didn't see me gawking at his body. I could feel the heat in my cheeks.
"Hey Sam, Jasmine said you would be coming by." He stepped aside so that I could enter the house.
I smiled cheekly at him taking in his scent as I walked past him.
"Yeah, I hope you don't mind." I smiled now standing in the living room turning to face him.
"Nope." He said as he walked pat me and headed to his room up the stairs.
Okay then, my eyes followed him. Someone is in a cranky mood. I just rolled my eyes. I was used to him being cold towards me. I'm not really sure why or when it started. I thought he didn't mind me being around but about two years ago he just started acting different towards me.
I walk up the stairs to Jasmines room. I was about to walk into her room when I seen Darren come out of the bathroom. We made eye contact and he just walked towards me. A part of me wished he would stop and kiss me, I could really use that right now. I watch as he gets closer and I can smell his cologne and my mouth started to water.
"Can you move? You're in front of my door?" He asked me irritated and impatient.
I moved out of his way and he slammed his door shut. He really was in a bad mood.
I walk into Jasmine's room and see her laying on her bed watching tv.
"Finally, what took so long?" Jasmine asked as she pats her bed. I love my best friend. She is literally the only person getting me through this break up. I plop next to her and we just sit in silence. I'm grateful, I just wanted to decompress after that meeting Darren. Just being in his presence makes me feel like my energy is drained.
"Alright, I've been thinking and I am positive I can help you get over this slump you are in!" Jasmine said looking me intently.
"And?" I look at her curiously, her ideas aren't always the best.
"You just need to date Jake, he is Darren's friend and I bet he would be down to get your mind off of Josh!" I just look at her. Did I want to date Jake, not really. But if this will help what could be the harm.
I smile at her.
"I'm in." Hoping that this won't make Darren hate me more than he already does.
