Her Worthy Love

Kai's POV

As I opened the curtains to my room, I glanced at her adorable self-snuggle up more in the blanket. It all seems so unreal and I don't think I'm ever getting used to it

I made my way downstairs to make breakfast for her when Elijah came running

A week ago

After Hayley took that child she practically decided to adopt him and I had no intentions of saying her no.

we went through the legal documentations and finally adopted the 5 year old boy.

Hayley named him Elijah and I kind of liked it. Elijah is doing better now and both Hayley and Elijah are staying with me.

Elijah considers me and Hayley her mom and dad and I wish to believe the same

Strange or not, this family completes me now

Hayley's POV

Another day of waking up and realizing my reality. It's been a week since Christian died but we haven't found his body yet.

I haven't been in contact with Caleb or Lucas and the moment I left that place, I decided to change myself- for Elijah

I miss Christian every day, cry to sleep every night but that doesn't change anything. I'm living with kai now.

My mom lives with my dad and only once in the entire week Lara visited me.

We talked for hours about Christian and let the memories take over

I make my way out of my- kai's bed and head towards the bathroom for a good cold shower

I then head downstairs

Seeing Elijah run towards me instantly made my heart warm and I scoop him up in my arms

"Good morning mommy" you have no idea how much that makes me smile

"Good morning baby" I kiss him on his head and then place him down. He runs again somewhere

I make my way towards kai without him noticing and place a kiss on his cheek

"Good morning" he says softly and I smile

I sit in front of him admiring his cooking skills for yet another day

"What do you plan to do today?" he asks

"I think I will get back to writing, get my life on track"

A sad smile appears on his face; believe it or not kai has been pretty sad about Christian's death lately. I don't know what he is thinking but whatever was in between them, I could tell for sure that kai was starting to consider Christian as his brother.

Every day we talk about Christian and every day I feel the pain in my chest getting lighter.

"SPLASH" Elijah appeared from my side and used his water gun to soak me from head to toe

"You are so in trouble kiddo" kai manages to speak between his giggles as I look at Elijah in shock

His soft giggles make me smile too

"Mama Bear is going to catch you in no time" I make a funny expression and he runs away from me, all the while laughing

I chase him across the room but he is pretty fast. Kai catches him from front and wraps his arms around him

He giggles and tries to break loose

"Daddy you were supposed to be on my side"

"Sorry kiddo, I am mama bear's side" I laugh

This is probably the first time I have laughed so whole heartedly and I feel genuinely happy

I wrap my arms around both kai and Elijah and we play for an hour straight until finally it's time for kai to head for his work

I help kai get ready for his work when suddenly his phone buzzed

"Should I get it for you?"

"No that's okay ill check that on my way out"

I just smile and clean the room in the mean time

Kai approaches his phone and his face gets stone cold

"Is everything okay?"

"Huh? Yes it is" he kisses me on the lips and leave but I feel that familiar strange feeling in my stomach

I let it pass and get started for the day

Unknown's POV

"I told him about it"

"Good did you tell him to meet me here?"

"I did sir"

"okay tell me when he gets here"

leaves and I place my hands on the table.

This sure is going to be a long day.
